Braddan
Whereas Esther Quine als Kissag of Arderry of the parish of KK Braddan
departed this life in Sep last died intestate and possessed of some small
property of goods chattels and effects leaving issue one child namely
Margaret Quine and in order to avoid lawsuit and a controversy Robert Quine
her husband and John Kissag, Charles Kissag and Samuel Quine the guardians
who has been sworn in court have bound themselves to the following agreement
and under the penalty here after mentioned.
First it is agreed upon that the said Robert Quine doth hereby bind and
oblige himself to pay or cause to be paid unto his said daughter in lieu of
her mothers effects, the sum of ten pounds Manks whenever she arrived at
age, together with her wearing apparel and also to bring up the said
child until she arrives at age without any compensation for the same.
And for the better security of the payments of said sum Thomas Quine and
Thomas Lewin do hereby become by for the payment of the said sum whenever
the said child arrives at age and for the true and faithful performance
hereof all parts concerned to hereby bind and oblige themselves in the
penalty and forfeiture of twenty pounds Manks.

At Douglas 24th June 1794 Robt Quine, Jo Kissage, Saml Quine, Charles
Kissage, Thos Quine and Thomas Lewin the subscribing parties acknowledged
the before written agreement and obligation to be their proper act and deed.
Before me Wm Clucas.
At a Chapter Court holden at Douglas on the 22d day of October 1793 Esther
Quine als Kissack of the parish of KK Braddan having departed this life on
or about the 20th day of Sep last past intestate and this court having
received intelligence thereof have decreed her only child namely Margaret
Quine administratrix of all and singular her goods chattels and effects
moveable and immoveable whatever who being under age Robert Quine her father
is thereupon sworn her guardian and supervisor as also
in trust for her well and truly to administer the estate of the intestate
to return a perfect inventory thereof to the Episcopal Registry and to pay
all her just debts so far forth as her goods and effects will extend and
the law shall bind him. And to these ends he hath given pledges in form
of law namely John Lewin of the parish of KK Braddan and Thos Radcliffe
of the town of Douglas. Decretum Est

John Kissack, Charles Kissack, and Samuel Quine uncles of Margaret
Quine daughter of Esther Quine als Kissack of the parish of KK Braddan late
deceased were sworn guardians and supervisors of the said
Margaret Quine in form of law.
