The last will and testament of John Clark. First he
committed his Soul to God and his Body to Christian
burial.
He left to his daughter one shilling because she was
served before.
He left to his son John all his right and title to a deed
of sale from Phillip Clark to him the said John Clark
viz. the Clough Bane and the meadow both Quarterland and
Intack, and if the said John his son happen to die
without issue he left and bequeathed the said premises to
his son Phillip without any debt sale or mortgage.
He left to his son Phillip the sum of twenty shillings
He also appointed that the said John his son is to give
the sum of five pounds to his brother Phillip for the
aforesaid bequeathed land
He left and bequeathed to his son in law Thos. Brew a
hive stock of bees
He left to his daughter Catherine one sheep
He left to his two grandson Thomas and Phillip Brew one
sheep a piece
He left to his two grandchildren William and Mart. Clark
one sheep a piece
He left his clock to his son William and his wife
To everyone that Claim any right to his said Will he left
six pence
He left half a crown to each of the witnesses of this
last Will
Lastly he nominated ordained and appointed his loving
wife Catherine whole and sole Exec. Of all the rest of my
goods moveable and immoveable whatsoever

At a Chapter Court holden at KK Michael June 10, 1793 the
Exec. Is sworn in court in form of law & hath given
pledges for the payment of debts and legacies namely the
witnesses of the Will.

Whereas my Father John Clark did by his last will and
testament bequeath to me his son Philip Clark the sum of
ten only shillings Legacy & also did further order by his
said will that his son John was to pay unto me the said
Philip Clark the sum of five pounds for and on account of
the bequest of the Lands Purchased from Philip Clark.
Know all men therefore by then by there presents that I
the said Philip Clark do hereby acknowledge to have rec'd
the Legacy of ten only shillings bequeathed me as
aforesaid also the further sum of five pounds which my
brother John was ordered to pay unto me as aforesd. & I
do hereby acquit release exonerate & discharge the Legacy
of the last will and testament of my sd father John Clark
of all claims demands xxxx of sd legacy of ten only
shillings & my brother John also I do herby exonerate
discharge from all claims demands for an account of the
sd Sum of five pounds which he was ordered to pay me the
said Philip Clark on xxx of the bequest of Lands before
mentioned as witness my hand this 13th Jany 1794.

William Clark son of the within Testator John Clark do hereby a
acknowledge to have rec'd the Legacy of one sheep
a piece unto my children Wm. and Margt. & I do hereby
acquit release and exonerate the charge the Exec. of the
last will and testament of my father John Clark from all
claims & demands forever out of sd Legacy of one sheep
each bequeathed to my children Wm & Mart. Clark aforesaid
as witness to hand this 13th January 1794.

I Thomas Brew husband of the within named Catherine herby
acknowledge to have rec'd a hive of Bees Legacy
bequeathed unto me by the last will & testament of my
father in law John Clark & also a sheep bequeathed unto
my wife Catherine, & also one sheep a piece bequeathed unto
my sons Tho. & Philip Brew, and I do hereby acquit
release exonerate discharge the Exec. of the last will
and testament of sd father in law John Clark of all
claims & demands for or on account of the several
respective legacies bequeathed as aforesd, as witness my
hand this 13th January 1793
