I Thomas Harrison of Malew being at present much indisposed in health
but of sound mind and disposing memory for which I thank my Heavenly Father
for the  same - considering the uncertainty of this life do hereby make this
to be my last will and testament and settlement in manner following:
First I commit my soul to God my Heavenly Father and to the tender
mercy of my Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ for forgiveness of the many
fold sins and transgressions which I have committed at several
times against his most sacred name By thought, words and deeds and my body
to Christian burial according to custom.
I leave and settle upon my eldest son and heir the tythe of my estate which
said tythe I purchased from his grace the Duke of Athol as all that parcel
of land being of the estate of Ballaquayle which I purchased from John Bell
and to him to go as inheritance.  As also the mortgage which I have on
Ballastern.  He my heir paying to my daughter Redfern(Margaret) meaning John
Redfernšs wife.  That sum and legacy which was left on me by her mother for
to pay her after my death.
As also the further sum of twenty pounds in my own names legacy.
As also a granddaughter Ann Redfern a legacy also half guineas a piece to my
son Thos's children.
but it in case the said mortgage on Ballastern should be redeemed before
------- then and in that case whosoever is to enjoy the said mortgage money
is to pay said debt and legacies.
I leave to my granddaughter Nancy Scrougham three guineas as legacy.
I leave to the poor of this parish three pounds to be paid at three
different payments namely at Easter annually.
Lastly I nominate and appoint my son John and my daughter Ann Scrougham
whole and sole executors of all the rest of my goods and and
in case my son John did not chose to join then my said daughter is to
take the whole of it upon herself.  As witness my subscription the eight day

At a Court holden in the Court House in the parish of Kirk Patrick on the
3rd day of October 1794.
John Harrison one of the executors and residuary legatees named and
appointed in the before going will having relinquished and surrendered his
right in by and under the said will to Ann Scrougham the other executors and
residuary legatee therein named as by the annexed deed of
resignation more fully appears she the said Ann Scrougham is thereupon sworn
executrix of the said will in form of law and hath given pledges
for the payment of the testators debts and legacies namely Christopher
Bridson of Kirk Malew and Thos Quinney of St Ann Yeoman.

These are to certify whom it may concern that I John Harrison of the estate
of Ballacrink in the parish of Malew do by these presents
relinquish and resign all my right and title as co-executor with my
sister Ann Scrougham to my late deceased father Thomas Harrisonšs will
bearing date the eighth day of May 1794 and do hereby allow and desire that
she may be sworn sole executrix.
Witnesses my subscription this 29th day of September in the year above
