86 Maughold
John Corteen being sick and infirm in body but of sound mind and memory do
make this my last will and testament.
First I commit my soul to God and my body to the dust after a decent
Christian burial.
I leave and bequeath to my brother Thos my share of the money that is at
Peter Murrays and likewise the money that is in Wm Tearešs hands.
I leave and bequeath to my nephew Thos Corteen my share of Bill Kelly's boat
and my watch.
I leave and bequeath to my niece Anne Corteen a cout(?coat).
I leave and bequeath to my nephew Robt Corteen five pounds.
I leave and bequeath to my niece Sarah Corteen five pounds.
I leave and bequeath to my nephew Daniel Callow five pounds.
I leave and bequeath to my sister Margt ten shillings.
I leave and bequeath to my niece Anne Cashin five shillings
I leave and bequeath to my niece Elinor Callow five shillings.
I leave to Cathrine Kermeen - maid - son twenty shillings.
I leave and bequeath to the poor of the parish five pounds.
I nominate and constitute my brother Robert sole and whole lawful executor
of all the rest of my goods and effects of whatever kind nature or
denomination.

At a Chapter Court holden at Lezayre June 23d 1795. The executor is sworn
in court in form of law and hath given pledges for the payment of debts and
legacies namely the witnesses of the will.
Probatum Est Thos Cubbon
We Robert Christian and John Kerruish, Wm Kermeen and Wm Corkill Wardens of
the parish of KK Maughold for the time being do hereby acknowledge to have
recd from Robt Corteen executor of the last will
and testament of John Corteen the sum of five pounds a legacy bequeathed by
the last will and testament of said John Corteen to the
poor of the parish of KK Maughold and we do hereby acquit release exonerate
and discharge the said Robt Corteen of all claims demands forever account of
legacy of five pounds bequeathed to the poor of the parish of KK Maughold as
aforesd as witness our hands this 2nd of Mar 1791.

Daniel Callow do hereby acknowledge to have recd and to be fully paid
the legacy of five pounds bequeathed me by the last will and testament
of my uncle John Corteen and do acquit release exonerated discharged his

pounds.
