Thomas Skillicorn, 1795

This is affirmed to be the Last will and Testamentary Disposition of Thos
Skillicorn of the Parish of KK Lonnan who Departed this Life on or about
the Latter end of Octr 1794
first he committed his soul to God and Body to Christian and as concerning
such worldly Effects as he was possessed thereof he bequeated them in
manner and form following
In the first place He gave and bequeathed unto his Eldest son Thos
Skillicorn Ten shillings and six pence British
Item He Left and bequeathed unto his son John Two Guineas
Itm He Left and bequeathed unto his Daughter Issable Two Guineas
Itm He Left and bequeeathed unto his Daughter Ellinor Two Guineas
Itm He Left six pence Legacy to any person or persons that would claim any
Right to his Effects
Lastly he constituted and appointed his Loving wife Issable Skillicorn
whole and sole Executrix of all the Rest and Residue of his Goods both
moveable & immoveable of what Kind or Denomination so ever
And further the Testator Thomas Skillicorn bequeathed the sum aforesaid to
his children and the same to come to the custody of Thos Looney senr who is
to pay Interest yearly to and for the said children's use until they come
to age

At a Chapter Court holden at Douglas on the 16th day of June 1795
        
Isabel Skillicorn als Goldsmith of the parish of KK Lonan departed this
life on or about the 3d day of April last past Intestate and this Court
having received intelligence thereof hath Decreed her Children namely
Thomas John Isabel and Elinor Skillicorn coadministrators of all and
Singular her Goods Chattels and Effects moveable and immoveable whatever
and the said John Isabel and Elinor being under age, and the said Thomas
being of too tender years to undertake the burden of the Administration of
the said Estate, John and Henry Skillicorn, uncles by the father's side and
Thomas Goldsmith Grandfather by the mother's side are thereupon sworn their
Guardians and Supervisors and also in Trust for them well and truly to
administer the Estate of the Intestate to exhibit into the Episcopal
Registry a full, true and perfect Inventory thereof, and to pay all her
just Debts so far forth as her Goods and Effects will extend and the Law
shall bind them
        
To which Ends they have given pledges in form of Law, namely the Revd John
Gell and Patrick Kelly both of the parish of KK Lonan

Isabel Skillecorn a Legatee within named acknowledges to have recd from
Thos Looney the Trustee named in the within Will the Sum of Ten Guineas
being in full of the Legacy bequeathed to her in the sd will and
exonerates, acquits and discharges the sd Thos Looney his Heirs Exors
Admors & assigns of the same as witness my Name & Mark this 7th Novr 1800

Thomas Skillicorn, Isabel Skillicorn & Elinor Skillicorn severally
acknowledge to have received from John Skillicorn, and Thomas Skillicorn
Exor of Henry Skillicorn decd (which said John Skillicorn & Henry
Skillicorn were Admors in Trust of the Estate of Isabel Skillicorn decd)
the whole of their respective Shares of the Goods & Effects of their Mother
the sd Isabel Skillicorn deceased and severally exonerate acquit and
discharge the said Jno Skillicorn and Thomas Skillicorn & every other
person of the same & every part thereof As Witness their Names & Marks the
date above written

We Thomas Skillicorn & John Skillicorn Legatees named in the annexed Will
of Thomas Skillicorn do hereby severally acknowledge to have recd from the
Hands of Thomas Looney the Trustee named and appointed in & by the sd Will
the whole of the Legacies bequeathed unto us respectively by the sd
Testator & severally exonerate acquit & discharge the sd Thos Looney his
Heirs, Exors, Admors & Assigns of the Same & every part thereof As Witness
our Subscriptions the Date above written
