Kirk Michael 1796
At an Ecclesiastlical
Court holden in the Court Lonan in the parish of KK Patrick on the 17th day
of June 1796.
John Cowley of the parish of KK Michael Bachelor having departed this life
on or about the 30th day of the month of May last past intestate and this
court having received intelligence thereof hath decreed his next of kin
namely David Cowley, Mary Cowley, Catharine Cowley, Margery Cowley, Margaret
Cowley and Elinor Cowley his brother and sisters administrators of all and
singular his goods rights credits chattels and effects movable and immovable
whatever and the said David Cowley having declined to sue out letters of
administration of the effects of the said decedent. Thos Quayle husband of
the said Catharine Cowley, William Killip husband of the said Mary Cowley,
John Clarke husband of the said Elinor Cowley, Margery Cowley and Margaret
Cowley aforesaid are thereupon sworn well and try to administer the estate
of the intestate to pay all his just debts so far forth as his goods and
effects will extend and the law bind them and to be true and just the one to
the other and also to the said David Cowley in the division of the residue
of the said estate and to these ends they have given pledges in form of law
namely John Quay and Thos Cowley both of the said parish of KK Michael.
