In the name of God Amen.
I Eleanor Shimmin alias Gick of the parish of Kirk Santan being weak
feeble in body but of perfect and sound mind and memory and therefore
calling to mind the mortality of my body knowing that it is appointed for
all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament
in the way and manner following:
First I recommend my soul to God and my body to a decent Christian
burial.
Secondly I leave and bequeath unto my son John Shimmin the sum of four
pounds and a red cloak to be possessed by him after my decease.
Thirdly I leave and bequeath to my daughter Eleanor Cottier als Shimmin the
sum of four pounds and all my wearing apperall to be possessed by
her after my decease.
Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my son Wm Shimmin whole and sole
executor of all my goods and effects and all my houses and lands be the of
what kind or denomination soever.  As we witness the same this 22nd day of
October 1787.

At a Chapter Court holden at Castletown June 2d 1796
The executor sworn in court in form of law and hath given pledges for
the payment of debts and legacies namely the witnesses of the will.
                        Probatum est  Ev Christian and  Wm Clucas

Robert Quirk husband of Eleanor Shimmin als Cottier acknowledged to
have recd from the executor above named the four pounds and the apparel
bequeathed to his said wife and hereby exonerates aquits and discharges the
said executor his heirs and assigns of the same

I John Shimmin a legatee named in the beforegoing will of Elinor
Shimmin do acknowledge to have rec'd from the hands of my brother Wm Shimmin
the executor named and appointed in the said will the sum of
four pounds and a red cloak being a legacy bequeathed unto me in the said
will and do exonerate acquit and discharge the said Wm Shimmin his
exors admors and assigns of the same and every part thereof.
As witness my name and mark this 9th day of Jan 1801.
