40          Rushen
In the name of God, amen. The last Will 
and Testament of William Cannellof the 
Parish of Kirk Christ Rushen who was weak 
in body but of sound mind and memory did
make this his last will and testament in 
Manner following March 28, 1798.  
He committed his soul to God and his 
body to Christian burial.  
To his daughters Catharine & Jane Cannell 
he left & bequeathed two shillings and 
six pence for each.  
He nominated constituted and appointed 
Jane Cannell his wife sole Executrix of 
all the rest of his effects and goods 
moveable and immoveable of what kind or 
nature soever thereby depriving any 
person or persons who should claim with 
six pence legacy.

Thomas Moore my X, 
Cath Cannell my X, jurati
           
               At a Chapter Court holden at 
               Castletown 13th June 1798: 
The Executrix is sworn in Court in form of Law 
and also guardian and supervisor of the children 
underage and hath gaive pledges for the payment 
of debts and legacies namely Thomas Moore the 
witness and Wm Gawn of Rushen.
