Peter Looney, 1798

        In the name of  God Amen
           -----------  the Last Will & Testament of Peter
                            of
       Looney of the Parish ^Kk Maughold who
       Departed this life  June  6th  1798   being of
       Perfect and well disposing mind  &  memory 
       at the making of this his  Will  in manner
       and form following.   
 First He Committed his Soul to God  &  his Body
       to  a  Christian  Burial
  Item He left and bequeathed to each of his
       Children  Five Shillings British  &  Sixpence
       to each claiment   
Lastly He Nominated Constituted and appointed
       his loving Wife Catherine Looney whole and
       Sole Executrix of all the rest of his Worldly
       Goods moveable or immoveable of what kind
       or denomination whatever      As Witness our
       Names or marks to the same this  June  8th

At a Chapter Court holden at Lezayre Octr 18th 1798
The Extrix  is sworn in Court in form of Law and
hath given Pledges for the payment of Debts and
Legacies namely the Witnesses of the Will
