In the name of God Amen.
I Evan Key of the town of Douglas Shoemaker being at present indisposed but
of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding do make publish and
declare this to be my last will and testament in manner following vizt:
First I commit my soul to Almighty God and body to Christian burial.
Item I give and bequeath my lands and houses situate near Strangford in the
parish of KK Braddan to my eldest daughter Isabell.
Item: and her two daughters namely Margaret and Elinor Kewin all equal.
I give and bequeath to my daughter Catherine my house and yard with the
appurtenances thereunto belonging situate in Douglas aforesaid and bounded
by the property of Mr Philip Moore of Pulrose on the west and John Kelly on
the east.
Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Margaret the house in which I
now dwell together with one half of the yard adjoining it.
I give and bequeath to my granddaughter Elizabeth Kewin the other half
of the said yard together with the house in which Robert Corkill dwells
adjoining the property of Mr John Stephen on the west as also a piece of
vacant ground adjoining the said Robert Corkill's house and bounded by
the property of Robert Kelly on the East.
I give and bequeath to the Poor of the Town of Douglas the sum of ten pound
which is to arise from the rent of my land at Strangford aforesaid and to be
distributed among them quarterly at the discretion of the executrix in trust
of this my last will and testament as the same shall become due by the terms
and condition of the lease of the said lands
after the death of the longest liver of me or my wife.  I give and
bequeath to my loving wife all the rest residue and remainder of all my
goods money chattels and effects as also the full enjoyment of all the
promised and specific legacies during her lifetime and I do also appoint
her the executrix of my will if she should under the devine providence
recover the use of her mental facilities to qualify her for that office,
but is if should not so happen in that case I nominate and appoint my two
nephews namely John Key and Robert Key to be joint executors in trust
of this my only true last will and testament and for which trouble they
are to be allowed a reasonable compensation.  I also give and bequeath
all my apparel to the said Robert Key.
In witness hereof I have caused my name to be wrote hereto and affixed my
mark thereto this the 18th day of June 1799.

At a Chapter Court holden at Douglas Oct 29th 1799.
Margaret Key the widow is sworn executor in court in form of law and
hath given her consent to all the legacies devised as more fully
expressed in the will and hath give pledges for the payment of debts and
legacies namely Ewan Key of Marown and John Key of Douglas.
