         Ballaugh
In the name of God Amen, I Stephen Kneale of the Loughdoo of the parish of
Ballaugh takeing to consideration the uncertainty of this life do make my
last will and testament in manner following.
First I commit my soul to God and body to Christian burial.
Item  I leave and bequeath unto my son Stephen Kneale all my estate of lands
all what I now have or may hereafter become my right either by
will, deed, or settlement or otherwise he paying in lieu thereof as
consideration the sum of forty pounds currency unto his sister Elinor Kneale
when she arrives at the age of eighteen years; the above estate of lands is
to be enjoyed and possessed by him the said Stephen Kneal my
son when he arrives at the age of eighteen years, but and in case, my
said son Stephen Kneale shall not pay the above sum of forty pounds unto my
aforesaid daughter Elinor Kneale when she arrives at the aforesaid
age of eighteen years than and in that case my said daughter Elinor shall
possess and enjoy a part of my purchased land of Close E Baly known by the
name of Lhen Crott until the said sum of forty pounds be well and
truly paid unto her my said daughter by the aforesaid Stephen Kneal my son.
Item:  I leave and bequeath unto my daughter Elinor Kneal the sum of twenty
pounds to be paid unto her by the executor of this my will when
she arrives at the age of eighteen years.
Item:  I leave and bequeath unto my said daughter Elinor a feather bed.
Item:  I leave and bequeath unto my son Stephen Kneal all my shaped apparell
and also a feather bed and bedstead that now stand in the paylour Item I
leave and bequeath in case either of my children afore named shall depart
this life before they come to age to dispose of the aforesaid legacies that
the surviving child shall possess and enjoy the legacies
before bequeathed unto the departed child.
Item:  I leave unto my servant Christian Clague the sum of twenty
shillings.
Lastly I leave and bequeath the care and maintenance of my aforesaid
children and also the profits and issues of the before mentioned and
bequeathed lands goods chattels and effects unto my loveing wife until
my aforesaid children shall arrive to the age before mentioned and also I
nominate, constitute and appoint my aforesaid loveing wife Catherine
Kneal sole executor of this my last will and testament and supervisor of my
children.
And half a crown to each witness of this will.
This 8th day of May 1799

At a Chapter Court holden at KK Michael Nov 4th 1799 the executrix is sworn
in court in form of law and also guardian and supervisor of the children
under age and hath given pledges for the payment of debts and legacies
namely the witnesses of the will.
