In the Name of God  Amen

I Edward Qualtrough in the Parish of Kirk Christ
Rushen being Weak in Body but of a sound
disposing mind, memory and understanding
& calling to mind the uncertainly of human
Life do dispose of my goods and Effects which 
I am possessed off in the manner following –
Imprimis I commit my soul to God who gave
It in hopes of a joyful resurrection thro’ the
merits & sufferings of my blessed saviour Jesus
Christ & my Body I commit to Christian Burial
to be decently interred -
Secondly I leave and bequeath to my Nephew 
Thomas Qualtro’ a suit of mourning –
Thirdly to Jane Quayle my servant I leave 
& bequeath a Black Gown
fourthly to Elr Quiggin I leave likewise a
black gown
To Cath Cannell I leave and bequeath
the House she lives in during her life and time
To the Poor ot the Parish I leave & bequeath
the Sum of eight pounds British to be put
into the possession of the Vicar & Wardens
to be laid out upon Interest and the said In-
terest to be paid yearly & every year to the
… of the aforesaid Parish
Lastly I nominate, constitute &
appoint my loving wife ….Ann Qualtro’ 
sole Executrix of all the rest of my Goods,
Chatels & Effects, moveable & immoveable
of what kine or nature so ever this the 24th
Day of June 1799
