This is affirmed to be the last will and 
testament of Christian als Bridson als 
Duggan wife of Philip Quirk of Ballavargher 
in the parish of KK Patrick being of sound 
and perfect mind and memory at the making 
thereof this 22nd day of March 1799.  
First, she committed her soul to God and 
her body to Christian burial.  
Item, she left unto her son Wm Bridson 
crown legacy. She left unto her daughter 
Ann Bridson a crown legacy.  
Item, she left unto her daughter Margeret 
Bridson the sum of ten pounds legacy.  
Item, she left unto her children vizt., John 
Quirk, Joseph Quirk, Thomas Quirk, Charles 
Quirk, Christian Quirk, and Cathrine Quirk 
the sum of twenty pounds apiece legacy to 
be paid to them or each of them when they 
shall arrive to the age of twenty one years.  
Item, she left and bequeathed to her loving 
husband Philip her part of the Meadow called 
the Keal Corrough situate in the parish of 
KK German and also a certain house and garden 
situated in the town of Peel commonly called 
and known by the name of Hutchin’s house and 
garden to be possessed by him during his 
lifetime and then to descend to her son John 
Quirk and if in case the said John Quirk happens 
to die before he arrives to twenty one years 
of age then to descent unto his brother Joseph 
Quirk and in case the said Joseph should die 
before he arrives to twenty one years of age 
then the said premises is to descent unto his 
brother Thomas Quirk.  
Item, she left and bequeathed unto her husband 
Philip Quirk her part of the house shades and 
garden in Castletown to be possessed by him 
during his lifetime and is at liberty to leave 
or will the said premises to whom he please of 
the children that is between them after his death.  
Item, she left her clothes or apparel to be 
divided between all her daughters equally.  
Lastly, she nominated and appointed her loving 
husband Philip Quirk to be whole and sole Executor 
of all the rest of her goods and effects 
moveable and immoveable be the same of what 
kind or denomination soever.

At an Eccleastical Court holden in the Court house 
in the Parish of KK Patrick on the 26th Day of April 1799.  
The Executor is sworn on Court in form of Law as 
also to be guardian & supervisor of the Testatrix 
children who are under age and hath given pledges 
for the payment of her debts of legacies namely John 
Gell one of the witnesses of the will and Christopher 
Bridson of KK Malew.  
Probatum est, Ev.Christian.          

                 To the Revd Ev.Christian 
                 Vicar General, 
                 the humble Petition of 
                 Philip Quirk of the parish 
                 of KK Patrick 
humbly sheweth
   That your Petitioner’s wife departed 
   this life on the 6th day of this Instant 
   month that some time previous to her 
   death she the deceased made her testament 
   and after devising and bequeathing 
   several legacies she nominated and 
   appointed your said Petitioner sole 
   Executor of her last will and testament; 
   that your Petitioner (is at present) 
   in a feeble and declining state of 
   health and desirous to settle all his 
   worldly affairs in so short a time as 
   possible whilst he .... ... .... is 
   capable of so doing; 
                He therefore prays your 
                Reverence order upon this 
                Petition to charge the 
                witnesses to prove the 
                said will as also the 
                next of kindred of the 
                deceased that your 
                Petitioner may be sworn 
                Executor whereby he may 
                be enabled and duly 
                authorized to pay off 
                and discharge the legacies 
                in the said will bequeathed 
                as also to perform all other 
                causes relative to the said 
                will as far as is necessary 
                in Law for your Petitioner 
                to do. 
                The granting of which will 
                cause your Petitioner to pray &c.  
                April 19th 1799.        

Ordered that the before going Petition do 
come on to be heard before me at the Eccleastical 
Court to be holden in the Courthouse in this 
Parish on Friday next whereof all proper 
Parties & persons to have due notice.
