36 German In the name of God Amen. This being the last will and testament of William Kaighin of Peeltown who being weak in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory at the making hereof. First I commit my soul to God and my body to a Christian burial. Secondly I leave to my eldest daughter Ann Kaighin the whole of the dwelling house that I now live in with a garden back of the same sixty yards and the length of the aforementioned house together with the ------------ at the west end. The surrendering and acquitting to her brother Phillip Kaighin all her right and claim to the ground that was left to her by her mother. He also left to his said daughter all the house furniture. Thirdly I do leave to my grandson William Kaighin seven yards in the front and twenty yards backward the ground for a house and garden joining to a watter----- at the east end of the croft. Fourthly I leave to my daughter Elizabeth Kaighin seven yards in the front and twenty yards backwards the ground for a house and garden joining to her sister's Elizabeth Kaighin ten shillings and six pence British and likewise to my son William Kaighin ten shillings and six pence British if so that he comes to island again. Seventhly But it is to be observed that in case any of the aforementioned do contend at law or about this my will it is my will and desire that he or she be totally cut out from having any claim or interest in my said will. Eighthly I do permit suffer and allow when it be occasionally necessary to repair the Methodist Preaching House to place a ladder upon my ground if necessary for the same without it as hindering. Lastly I nominate and appoint my son Philip Kaighin whole and sole executor of all the rest of my goods lands or effects of what kind so ever movable or immovable and debarring all others that may claim to my will by two shillings and six pence each.
