Petition and Decree re John Garret 1802

              To the Revd. Ewan Christian 
              and John Crellin Vicars General 
              of this Isle &c &c
              The Humble Petition of Ann 
              Garrett Widow and relict of John
              Garrett lately Deceased
Sheweth
      That your Petitrs said husband 
  John Garrett was, sometime on or about 
  the Month of August last, Kill'd by 
  Accident in a Marle[?] Pitt without 
  having made Any disposition of his 
  Affairs, Or Any Will to the knowledge 
  of your Petitr  And leaving a large 
  Family of Children under of Age 
  totally unprovided for 
        That no Administration has been 
  granted nor Represenative appointed 
  to him the said John Garrett ----
   Wherefore your Petitr humbly 
   prays a hearing of this Petition 
   And that some proper person Or 
   Persons may be appointed 
   Administrator to the said John 
   Garrett And Guardian or Guardians
   of his said children  And your 
   Petitr shall pray &c &c 
       Tho Gawne
                 for the Petitr

Ordered that the Matters of this Petition do 
come on to be heard at a  Court to be holden in the
Court house in this Parish on Saturday the 23d 
day of Janry instant whereof all Proper parties 
& Persons to have Notice
   Given at KK Michael this 9th 
   Day of Janry 1802

By virtue of the Revd vicar genl Crellin his authority 
of  Charged john garret wm garret john garret the next 
of kine of john garret  Set Dayte to appear befor his Revd 
at the Court house in kk michael on Saturday next 
by ten of the Clock in the forenoon to answer the 
petition of ann garrett

At a Court holden at Kk Michael 23rd Jany 

John Garrett of the parish of Lezayre
having departed this life in or about the 
month of August last past Intestate and
this Court having intelligence thereof hath
Decreed his Children namely John, 
William, Daniel Ann Jane and Margt. 
Garrett Admors of all and singular his 
Goods Chattles and Effects movable and ~~~
immovable whatever who being under age, 
Ann Garrett their mother is thereupon sworn 
their Guardian and Supervisor as also in 
Trust for them well and truly to administer 
the Estate of the Intestate, to return a true and 
perfect Inventory thereof to the Registry of 
this Court and to pay all his just debts so far 
forth as his Goods and Effects will extend 
and the Law shall bind her  To which ends 
she hath given pledges in form of Law ~ 
namely Thomas Gawn Esqr and Ewan 
Gill both of the parish of Lezayre
