		56. 

The last will and Testament of Patrick Cannell 
of Shalghaige in the Parish of KK Michael 
Being now in declining years and weak 
in body but of sound disposing mind 
memory and understanding do make 
And Publish this my last will and 
Testament in manner and Form following 
	First I Committ my soul to god and body 
to Christian burial 
2ly. I leave and bequeath to my two Daughters 
Namely Jane and Catherine the sum of Twenty 
Pounds to be Equally between them also I leave 
to my aforesaid Daughter Jane my Part of a 
Padcel of sheep which lis between myself and 
William Gell 
3ly. I leave and bequeath to my grand Children 
James Crellin's Children a sheep and a lamb 
to Each Child also I leave and bequeath to my 
Grand Children William Garrett's Children a 
sheep and a lamb to Each Child also I leave 
a she yearling to my Grand Daughter 
Jane Garrett 
4ly. I leave and bequeath to son John Cannell 
The sum of Two Pounds also I leave to 
my afforesaid son my woollen shapen 
apparel Excepting what shall be aftersaid 
mentioned as legacies to rest of my 
Children 
5ly. I leave and bequeath to my son in law 
Robert Christian my Russett great Coat 
6thly I leave and bequeath to my three Children 
Namely John Jane and Catherine Three binss 
of barely to be Equally between them 
7thly. I leave to my son in law William Garrett 
a new shirt also I leave to son in law James 
Crellin a new shirt also I leave to my son 
John Cannell a new shirt 
8tyly. I leave to my son in law William Garrett 
My best Pair of Breeches also I leave 
to my youngest son Phillip Cannell 
Which is on broad The sum of Two Pounds 
but if in Case my afforsd.son shall not Come 
Home to recieve the afforesd.sum then and 
in that Case the afforesd.sum of Two Pounds 
Be a legacy to my two Grand Children 
Namely Jane and William Garrett 
	Likewise when my beloved wife died 
She will and bequeathed to her youngest 
son Phillip Cannell the sum of two Pounds 
which said sum I will and bequeath to 
my Two Grand Children Namely Jane 
and Margaret Crellin if my afforsd.son 
Phillip Cannell will not Come home to 
Recieve the before mentioned sum 

9thly. I will and bequeath unto my two Daughters 
Namely Catherine and Elizabeth all my 
sheep Excepting what shall be Expended 
at my funeral Expence. 
10thly. I leave and bequaeath to my Daughter 
Elizabeth the Pease which I have of the Premisses 
of Shalghaige where I now reside. 
	And lastly I leave Will and 
Bequeath all and every the Rest Residue and 
Remainder of all my goods Chattles Credits 
and Effects whatever unto my youngest 
Daughter Elizabeth Christian als Cannell 
Whom I also Nominate and appoint whole 
and sole Executrixe and Residenary 
legatee of this my Last and Testament 
hereby revoking and annulling all wills 
by me hereto fore made 
In testimony whereof I have hereunto 
set my Mark this 27th.of Novr.

named Exoix.is sworn in Court in form 
of Law & hath given Pledges for the pay- 
ment of Debts & Legacies namely the witnesses 
of the Will 	Probatum est

and John Cannell Legatees named in the last Will of 
Patrick Cannell of the parish of KK Michael Do 
hereby acknowledge to have recieved from Robt.Christian 
Exor.of the said Will the whole of Legacies of Money with 
ye.Goods of every Description left and bequeathed to each of their 
Children together with the Legacy of four pounds left 
to their sd.Children in the sd.Will in Case Philip Cannell shall not 
come to the Island to recieve ye.sd.Sum, But if he does, they 
promise to refund the same to him And the said James Crellin, 
William Garrett and John Cannell severally exonerate 
aquit & Discharge the sd.Robt.Christian his Exors 
Admors & Assigns of the said Legacies & every part 
Whereof & Witness there Names & Marks this 22d.
