79 Andreas
The last will and testament of John Radcliffe
of the parish of KK Andreas made and declared
on the 17th day of October 1808- being of
perfect mind and memory at the making hereof.
Item: He committed his soul to God and his
body to Christian Burial.
Item: He bequeathed and left to his son Charles
Radcliffe his part or Moiety of a certain piece
of land commonly called and known by the name of
Croit Skinner; and also Margaret Radcliffe his
beloved wife hath hereby consented to give her
part or moiety of the Croit Skinner to him their
son Charles Radcliffe to be possessed by him to
his own disposal immediately after the decease
of her the said Margaret Radcliffe with all the
Debts there unto belonging and also he is hereby
bound to pay to his sister Ann Kissack the
sum of five pounds.
Item: He left unto his son-in-law William Tear
his part or moiety of a cart.
Item: He left unto his Grand daughter Catherine
Tear a sheep.
Item: He left unto his Grand son William Tear
a sheep.
Item: He left unto his daughter Margaret Kneale
a Blanket.
Item: He left unto his daughter the wife of William
Tear a feather bed with the clothes and it is to
be hereby observed that none of the before named
legacies are to be paid till after the decease
of my wife Margaret Radcliffe.
Item: He left unto the witnesses of this will one
shilling and excluding every other person or persons
that shall or may pretend to break this my last will
and testament with one shilling legacy.
Lastly I nominate and appoint my loving wife Margaret
Radcliffe sole exectrix of all the residum of goods
and effects movable and immovable of what kind or
nature soever.

At an Ecclesiastical Court holden
at Ramsey 27th April 1810
The executrix is sworn in court in form of
Law and consents that her share or moiety
Of Croit Skinner shall descend to her son
Charles as more fully ____ in the will hath
given Pledges for the payment of Debts and
Legacies namely William Christian sen’r Esq.
And Thomas Radcliffe her son both of KK Bride.

The petition of Margaret Radcliffe
Widow of John Radcliffe late
deceased of the parish of Andrews
Humbly shewith
That your petitioners late husband
the said John Radcliffe after
having left and Bequeathed diverse
legacies to secondary persons
by his last will and testament
Nominated and appointed your
petitioner sole executrix of
all the rest of his goods and
Effects as by the said will
may appear.
That the said goods and effects
are in perishing condition and
likely to Sustain material injury
for want of proper care being
taken of the same.
Wherefore your petitioner
humbly prays a speedy hearing of
this and That upon proof of the
before stated facts. Your
petitioner may be admitted and
Sworn executrix of her said late
husband’s last will and testament
by such Other relief in the
promises as to your reverence
may seem [fit] and your
Petitioner will ever pray.
Ordered that this petition do come unto to be heard
at a court holden at the court house in Ramsey on
Friday next by nine o’clock in the forenoon whereof
all parties and witnesses are to have due notice.
