In the name of God Amen. I Jane Qualtrough of Castletown being of sound and
disposing mind memory and understanding do make publish and declare this my
last will and testament.
I commit my soul to God and my body to Christian burial at the discretion of
my executor herein after named.
I leave and bequeath to the Vicar and Wardens of the parish of Rushen for
the time being the sum of One Hundred Pounds British to be by them laid out
at interest on approved Land Security and the interest thereof to be
annually paid to the mistress of the school, already founded by me in the
said parish.
I leave and bequeath to the said Vicar and Wardens the like sum of One
Hundred Pounds British to be laid out by them at interest on approved Land
Security, and the interest thereof to be annually distributed to and amongst
the poor of the said parish.
I leave and bequeath to the poor of Castletown the sum of Ten Pounds
British.
I leave and bequeath to my kinsman Robert Tear of America, the sum of One
Thousand Pounds British and in case the said Robert Tear should die before
me I leave and bequeath the said sum of One Thousand Pounds British to the
child or children of the said Robert Tear lawfully begotten.
I leave and bequeath to William Smith of Liverpool Merchant the sum of One
Hundred Pounds British due to me upon his notes together with such interest
as may be due thereon at the time of my decease.
I leave and bequeath to Jane Shuttleworth of Rushen widow, the sum of One
Hundred Pounds British.
I leave and bequeath unto Esther Gawne of the same parish, the sum of One
Hundred Pounds British.
I leave and bequeath to Elizabeth Callow of Cloughbane in the parish of
Lezayre the sum of One Hundred Pounds British.
I leave and bequeath unto Ellen Callow of the same place the sum of One
Hundred Pounds British.
I leave and bequeath to Catherine Christian daughter of the Reverend
Nicholas Christian decease the sum of fifty pounds British.
I leave and bequeath to Thomas Qualtrough of the said parish mason the sum
of Fifty Pounds British.
I leave and bequeath to Jane Qualtrough of Castletown the daughter of my
brother Edward the sum of Twenty Pounds British.
I leave and bequeath to the servant, who shall attend me during my last
illness, the sum of Five Pounds British.
I leave and bequeath unto Thomas Gawne of Milltown in the parish of ( )
the sum of Fifty Pounds British.
I leave and bequeath to Esther Gawne aforesaid the whole of the furniture of
my bed bedchamber white dimity bedstead and hangings with the bedding to the
same belonging.
I leave and bequeath to the before named Jane Shuttleworth my wearing
apparel together with the furniture of my second best bedchamber.
I nominate, constitute and appoint Edward Gawne of Mount Gawne in the parish
of Rushen aforesaid Esquire executor and residuary legatee of this my last
will and testament hereby annulling all wills by me heretofore made and
declaring this my last will and testament. In witness whereof, I have
hereunto subscribed my name, this, 13 day of July 1807.

I Jane Qualtrough the testatrix before named do in addition to the before
written will, devise and bequeath unto Esther Gawne the sum of Fifty Pounds
British to be paid her in British to the legacy left her in and by the said
will and do desire that this be considered as a codicil to the said will
signed by me this 27th Oct 1807.

I Jane Qualtrough the testatrix before named do also in addition to the
before written will leave devise and bequeath unto the said Esther Gawne
before named in addition to the legacies aforesaid a green sarsenet gown and
( ) muslin gown by me lately procured and I do desire that this maybe
considered as a further codicil to this my said will.

At a Consistory Court holden at K Michael 22d February 1810.
The executor is sworn in Court in form of Law and hath given Pledges for the
payment of Debts and Legacies namely Thos Gawne Esq and Robert Kelly junior
one of the witness. Probatum est
