In the name of God Amen.
I Alice Martin widow of the town of Ramsey being in a 
tolerable state of health thanks be to Almighty God but taking to 
mind the uncertainty of this transistory life do ordain this my 
last will and testament to be done in manner following vizt:
First I do commit my soul to Almighty God and my body to be 
buried in a Christian decent way of burial.
Item - I do leave and bequeath to my son Thomas Martin the 
sum of seventy pounds British as legacy.
Item - I do leave and bequeath to my son Edward Martin the 
sum of seventy pounds British as legacy.
I do leave and bequeth to my daughter Ann the wife of Robert 
Kermeen the sum of seventy pounds British as legacy.
I do leave and bequeath to my daughter Mary the wife of 
Edward Callow the sum of seventy pounds British as legacy.
I leave and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth the wife of Wm 
Christian the sum of one hundred pounds British as legacy.
I do leave and bequeath to my daugher Alice the wife of Danl 
Christian the sum of seventy pounds British as legacy.
I leave and bequeath to my son Thomas Martin a sea chest 
which formerly belonged to my son Wm Martin.
I do leave and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth and my niece 
Alice Kneale my wearing apparel equally between them.  And 
also to my duaghter Elizabeth a round tea table and tea board 
and all my china and  glasses.
I do leave and bequeath to my nephew Wm Sprainger the sum of 
twenty pounds British as legacy.
I do leave and bequeath to the poor of the town of Ramsey the 
sum of ten pounds British.
I do leave and bequeath to Jane Callow daughter of Wm Callow 
the sum of ten pounds British as legacy.
I do leave and bequeath to Ellinor Christian of Lewaigue the 
sum of five pounds British as legacy.
I do leave and bequeath to my niece Alice Kneale the sum of 
twenty pounds British as legacy.
I do leave and bequeath to my sister Mary and my sister in law 
Esther the wife of Capt Thos Allen a black silk cloak each vizt 
or my two best silk cloaks and whoever happened to have the 
worst cloak to have my best bonnet along with it.
I do leave and bequeath to Jane Quayle my son in law Wm 
Christian's niece the sum of five pounds British as legacy.
I do leave and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth the wife of 
Wm Christian all my beds, bed cloathes, and bedding. 
I leave and bequeath to any person or persons that claim in my 
will six pence legacy.
And lastly I do nominate constitute and appoint my brother Capt 
Thos Allen of Ballavarry and Wm Christian Junr of 
Ballaylewaigue whole and sole executors of the rest of my 
goods and effects moveable and immoveable what kind or 
denomination soever.  In witness hereof I have hereunto sett my 
mark to  my name this 30th day of March 1811

Edward Martin son of Alice Martin and Daniel Christian and 
Robert Kermeen husband of Alice Kneale als Martin and Ann 
Sprainger als Martin who are daughters of Alice Martin late of 
the town of Ramsey deceased do hereby acknowledge to have 
rec'd from the hands of Thos Allen Esq of Andreas and Mr Wm 
Christian of St Bride executors of the last will and testament of 
Alice Martin aforesaid the sum of seventy pounds British each 
being the amount of a legacy left to each of us by Alice Martin 
aforesaid.  And do hereby acquit exonerate and discharge the 
said Thos Allen Esqr and Wm Christian the executors 
administrators and assigns of the same and every part thereof
As witness our subscriptions this 16th June 1812.

Acknowledged before me    Henry Martin AR
Whereas Alice Martin deceased by her last will and testament 
bequeath unto Alice Kneale her grand daughter the sum of 
twenty pounds British.
I Daniel Christian stepfather of the said Alice Kneale do 
acknowledge to have received the said sum of twenty d British 
for Alice Kneale my step daughter she being under age from 
Thos Allen Esq of Andreas and Mr Wm Christian of St Bride 
executors of the last will and testament of Alice Martin 
aforesaid.  And do hereby acquit release exonerate and 
discharge the said Thos Allen  Esqr and Mr Wm Christian their 
exors admors and assigns of all and every part of said legacy.   
As witness my name this 16th June 1812   Danl Christian.

At an Eccl Court holden at Ramsey 7th Feb 1812 
Robert Kermeen Plaintiff and Thos Allen and Wm Christian 
executors of Alice Martin defendants.  It being admitted by the 
defendants that Alice Martin did bequeath unto the plaintiffs 
wife Ann the sum of seventy pounds British as a legacy.  
Ordered therefore that the said defendants do forthwith pay the 
said legacy of seventy pounds British otherwise to be committed 
until they submit to law and pay all fees.       Thos Cubbon
