83 Braddan The humble petition of Isabella Quine of Douglas Widow. Sheweth: That Samuel Quine of said town is upwards of a month dead but previous to his decease he made and duly published his last will and testament in writing and appointed your petitioner executrix thereof. That your petr is desirous to have probate on the said will. Wherefore she prays a hearing of this petition and that your Reverence may be pleased to receive the said will in court in usual form and your petitioner sworn executrix thereof according to law and your petitioner will pray. Ordered that this petr do come on to be heard at an Ecclesiastical Court to be holden in Douglas Court House on Friday next. Whereof all proper parties and persons are to have due notice. Given at KK Marown this 28th of January 1812. T. Stephen. This is the last will and testament of us Samuel Quine of Douglas Cooper and Isabella Quine otherwise Kissack his wife being of sound mind memory and understanding at the making hereof and hereby revoking all other will or wills by us heretofore at any time or times said. First we give devise leave and bequeath to the survivor or us for and during the natural life of such survivor all our houses and concerns to which we are entitled situate in the town of Douglas under a Deed or Deeds of Sale made by Mrs Mary Kelly widow and relict of Matt Kelly deceased as by Deed dated 12 Sep 1784 may appear. Item We give devise and bequeath after the death of such survivor the said houses and concerns to our daughter Catharine Quine her heirs exors and assigns subject nevertheless to the payment of one hundred and fifty pounds Manks currency to her made to and among the children of our son Samuel Quine after his death and subject to the payment of lawful interest for the said sum of one hundred and fifty pounds Manks to the said Samuel Quine during his natural life. Item We give and bequeath to our son in law Thomas Christian five shillings. Lastly we constitute and appoint the survivor of us executor or executrix of this our last joint will In witness whereof we have hereunto put our names this 7th Dec 1811. Samuel Quine Isabella Quine her x Witnesses: Thos Gelling and John Cæsar Gelling. 31 Jan 1812 Douglas - the survivor Isabella Quine is sworn executrix in court in form of law and hath given pledges for the payment of debts and legacies namely Samuel Quine of Douglas and Patrick Kewley of Marown.
