The last will and testament of Thomas Corteen of Ballnasholage in the parish
of KK Maughold who departed this life the 10th day of Feb 1813 - Being in
perfect mind and memory at the making hereof.
First He committed his soul to God and body to a Christian burial.
Item:  He left and bequeathed to his sisters children namely Daniel and
Ellinor Callow the sum of five guineas to each of them and likewise one
sheet and one lamb to the above Daniel Callow.
Item: He left and bequeathed to his brother Robt Corteen's daughter namely
Sarah Corteen all his books except the large bible.
Item:  He left and bequeathed to his brother Robert Corteen's daughter
namely Ann Quayle all the money that lay in her hands belonging to him. Item
He left and bequeathed to William Quayle's son namely John Quayle
his watch and cordery and velvet bracelets.
Item He left and bequeathed to William Quayle's daughter namely Isabel
Quayle the sum of one guinea.
Item He left and bequeathed to his god son John Corlett the sum of one
guinea
Item He bequeathed to Nicklas Corteen his top coat and also to the above
Nicklas Corteen's son Robert his best jacket and also to this son John
Corteen two shirts.
Item He left and bequeathed to Thos Corteen's son namely Robert Corteen the
sum of one guinea.
Item He left and bequeathed to his sister Margrett Cashen his half boots.
Item He left and bequeathed to Margrett Corteen Ramsey the sum of one
guinea.
Item He left and bequeathed to his brother Robt Corteen's son namely Robert
the sum of two guineas.
Item He left and bequeathed to his sister in law Margaret Corteen the
sum of five guineas and also the linen cloths that lay in her hands.
Item He left and bequeathed to William Kneen his blue corded Breeches. Item
He bequeathed to Mary Kelly the sum of ten shillings and six pence British.
Item He left and bequeathed to William Quayle Junior one sheep and lamb.
Item He left to each craves that would claim a right in his will the sum
of six pence each and one shilling and six pence British to each of the
witnesses of this his last will and testament.
Lastly He nominated constituted and appointed his brother's son Thomas
Corteen whole and sole executor of all the rest of his goods and effects
movable or unmovable of what nature or kind soever.

At a Chapter Court holden in Ramsey the 17th June 1813 The executor sworn in
court in form of law and hath given pledges for the payment of debts and
legacies namely the witnesses of the will.
