9 Braddan In the name of God Amen. We Hugh Shimmin and Isabella Shimmin alias Fail my wife do think of the uncertainty of this life do make this our joint will and testament as follows: First we commit our souls to Almighty God and our bodies to Christian burial as for the goods and effects that the Almighty has blessed us with we jointly leave and bequeath as follows: Item we leave and bequeath unto those children namely Isabella, Jane, John, and Elenor the sum of ten shillings and six pence British each provided if any one of them dies before us then that childšs legacy not to be paid. Item we leave and bequeath unto Thomas Shimmin the sum of of two shillings and six pence British all those before mentioned children are children of a former wife to Hugh Shimmin. Item we leave and bequeath unto my last wifešs children namely Rachel, William, Phillip, Robert and Margret the sum of ten shillings and six pence British each provided likewise if any one of them dies before us then that child's legacy not to be paid. We leave six pence legacy to each claimer. Lastly we nominate, constitute, order, and appoint whoever of us the said Hugh Shimmin or Isabella Shimmin my wife shall survive and be the longest liver to be whole and sole executor of all our worldly goods houses and other yards or gardens provided nevertheless should the said Isabella Shimmin survive and marry again then in that case that she is to pay unto each of our own children before mentioned the sum of five pounds British. And this we do declare to be our joint will and testament this 21st day of July 1808.
