In the name of God Amen
This is affirmd to be the last will and
Testament of John Corteen of Tolloqueen Kk Maughold
First he commits his soul to God and his body
to Christian Burial and as touching his
Worldly effects he appoints and bequeaths
To his grand daughter Isable Corteen three
Pound manx and to his two grand Children
Robt and Mary Corteen one lamb each. to his
Grand daughter Elenor Looney one lamb. to his
Grandson Wm Looney one sheep & a lamb.
To his daughter Easter's Child one sheep & a lamb.
To his grandson Wm Corteen a waiscoat
To his two brothers Wm & Robt Kelley one pair
of breeches each and five shillings Legacy to all
who craves a right to this deed. and lastly he ap-
pointed his daughter Jane Corteen whole & sole
Execetor of all the rest of his goods and effects
moveable and immovable of what kind or
nature soever ------- Witnesses present

The Exx is sworn in Court in form of law and hath given
pledges for all the payment of debts and legacies namely Wm
Kerruish one of the Witnesses and Thos Kermeen both of
Kk Maughold.

The Humble Petition of
Jane Corteen of the parish
of Kk Maughold (Spinster)
Sheweth
That John Corteen our Petitioner's
father having departed this life about
a fortnight ago, but previous to his
decease duly made and published his
last Will and Testament. Wherin and
whereby he nominated and appointed
your Petitr sole Executrix and residuary
Legatee as by said will may more at
large appear.
That the said Estate requires the
most early and dilligent attention in a
much as severall articles of the said
effects may be lost thro' negligence
Wherefore your Petitr Humbly
prays for a speedy hearing of this
Petition and that this will may be
Established so as your Petitr be
authorized to proceed in the
management and Superintendance
of the said Estate with such other
and further ??dress to yr Petitr as to
your reverence may seem meet.
And your Petitr shall ever pray.
Ordered that this petition do come in to be heard
at an Ecl Court to be holden in ???? on Friday
next ????. Wherof all parties and persons
to have due notice given this 15th day of December 1815.
