The humble petition of John Mylchreest of the parish of Malew Sheweth: That
your petrs father Thomas Mylchreest of Ballamoda of the aforesaid parish of
Malew departed this life on or about the 19th of March last
past and in his last will and testament among other bequeaths left your pet
executor of the same as by the said will may appear.
That the witnesses to the said will are living in the northern part of the
island and would be very inconvenient to them to attend at a Chapter
Court holden in Castletown but would be more convenient to them and to your
petr to have the said will probated at and Eccl Court to be holden in
Marown.
Therefore your petr humbly prays a hearing of this petition and that your
Rev may be pleased to receive the aforesaid will in at an Eccl Court to be
holden in the parish of Marown upon  so an early a day as to your Reverence
shall seem meet and your petr as in duty bound will every
pray.

Pursuant to the Rev Vicar Gen Stephens reference to the petition of John
Mylchreest of the parish of Malew have charged William Fargher of the
said parish to appear at an Eccl Court to be holden at Ballagarey in the
parish of Marown on Friday next by ten O'clock in the forenoon to answer the
suit of the said petr John Mylchreest this I aver the 8th day of
October 1816.

In the name of Most Holy and Blessed Trinity Three persons and one God Amen.
I Thomas Mylchreest of Ballamoda in the parish of Malew being infirm in
health but of disposing mind and memory thank God and calling to mind
the uncertainty of this mortal life and in order to settle my worldly
goods and effects do therefore make this last will and testament as in
manner following:
First I commit my soul to Almighty God and my body to Christian burial. I
leave and bequeath to William Fargher and Elizabeth his wife the sum of
thirty pounds.
I leave and bequeath to Esther Fargher the sum of five pounds.
I ve and bequeath to Jane Fargher the sum of five pounds daughters of the
aforesaid William Fargher and Elizabeth his wife I leave and bequeath to
John Cane and Elinor his wife the sum of five pounds.
I leave and bequeath to Robert Quayle and Elizabeth his wife the sum of five
pounds.
I leave and bequeath to Eliza Mylchreest the sum of five pounds.
I leave and bequeath to Ann Mylchreest the sum of five pounds.
I leave and bequeath to Isable Mylchreest the sum of five pounds
daughter of John Mylchreest and Elizabeth his wife which aforesaid sums of
legacy is in the hands of William Bridson of Silverburn Quarter in the
parish of Malew on security in part of his estate.
I leave and bequeath to Ann Fargher daughter of the aforesaid William
Fargher and Elizabeth his wife the sum of thirty two pounds which is in
the hands of John Bridson of Silverburn Quarter in the parish of Malew on
security in part of his estate and also a feather bed.
I leave an bequeath to the poor of Silverburn Quarter in the parish of
Malew the sum of one pound to be divided amongst them as my executor shall
think proper.
And lastly I leave and bequeath all the residue and remainder of my said
goods, rights, chattels, and effects whatsoever unto my son John Mylchreest
and do hereby constitute and appoint him sole executor and residuary legatee
thereof and excluding all cravers with six pence a
piece as legacy.
In witness whereof  I the said Thomas Mylchreest have hereunto put or

11 Oct 1816 at an Eccl Court holden in Marown the executor is sworn in court
in form of law and hath given pledges for the payment of debts and legacies
namely the witnesses of the will.
