In the name of God Amen.
I Ellinor Cain alias Wattleworth wife of John Cain of Ballagirr in the
parish of KK German being at present  weak in body but of sound and
disposing mind memory and understanding and being minded to settle my
worldly affairs do make this my last will and testament in form and
manner following:
First - I commit my soul to Almighty God and my body to a decent
Christian burial.
Second - I leave bequeath and devise unto my children William,
James,Margaret and Leonora each of them the sum of thirty pounds British and
to my son Ceasar the sum of ten pounds British and also to my son John
if alive the sum of ten pounds British and if dead then said sum of ten
pounds to belong to my executor hereinafter mentioned.
Thirdly - I leave bequeath and devise unto the poor or paupers of the
town of Peel the sum of five pounds British to be distributed among
them at my decease by the wardens of the said town.
Lastly - I nominate constitute and appoint my loving husband John Cain whole
and sole executor of all the rest or residue of my goods effects
and chattels movable or immovable and of my moneys bills bonds deeds and
credits of what kind or nature soever and of this my last will and testament
hereby cutting off and debarring all and every person or persons claiming or
pretending to claim in this my last will and
testament with six pence legacy.  In testimony whereof I have herein to
subscribed my name as dated my mark to my name this Eighth day of March One
thousand eight hundred and seventeen 1817.   Elinor Cain her X mark

At a Chapter Court holden at Mulling y Chlei the 23 Oct 1817.  The executor
is sworn in court in form of law and hath given pledges for the payment of
debts and legacies namely the witnesses of the will.

Know all Men by these Presents that I James Cain of Ballagirr in the
parish of German do own and acknowledge to have received from my father John
Cain the sum of thirty pounds British being a legacy left and bequeathed
unto me by my mother  Eleanor Cain (deceased) in her last
will and testament and bearing date the 8th day of March in the year
1817.  And I do allow and order the same to be cancelled on the Episcopal
Register so far as it respects me.  As witness my subscription this the 20th
day of October in the year 1817.   James Cain

October the 23rd 1817 James Cain the executing party to the before written
receipts and discharge acknowledged the same to be his proper
act and deed and to have received  the money therein mentioned.

Know all Men by these Presents that I Nicholas Quayle of Peeltown do hereby
own and acknowledge to have received from the hands of John
Cain of Ballagirr in KK German executor of the last will and testament of
the late Ellinor Cain alias Wattleworth his late wife deceased the sum
of thirty pounds British the same being a legacy bequeathed unto my
wife Margaret Quayle alias Cain their daughter by the said last will
dated the l8th March 1817.  And I do hereby cancel and allow the said
bequest or legacy to be cancelled at or on the Ecclesiastical Register
accordingly.  Witness my name or mark this 29th day of October 1817 Nicholas
Quayle his mark

discharged acknowledged the same to be his proper act and deed.

Know All men by these Presents that I William Cain of the town of Peel
Mariner do own and acknowledge to have received from my father John Cain of
Ballagir in the parish of German the sum of thirty pounds British the same
being a legacy left and bequeathed unto me by my mother Eleanor Cain
deceased in her last will and testament and bearing date
the 8th day of March 1817.
And I the said William Cain do order and allow the same to be cancelled
on the Episcopal Register so far as it respects me. As witness my
subscriptions this the 2nd day of February in the year One thousand eight
hundred and eighteen 1818     William Cain
