39 Michael
In the name of God Amen. I Joney Quayle otherwise Cannell of the parish
of Kirk Michael being weak in body but of sound and disposing mind at making
this my last will and testament.
First I commend my soul to God and my body to Christian burial.
I leave and bequeath to my son William Quayle one shilling as legacy.
I leave and bequeath to my daughters Ann and Joney one guinea each with all
my shaped cloths and apparel equally between them.
I leave and bequeath to my daughter Alice the sum of twelve pounds
British with the sheep on the mountains in the care and keeping of
Thomas Quirk.
I leave and bequeath to my daughter Isabella the best feather bed and
bolster all the chairs in the house together with the sum of one guinea
as legacy.
I leave and bequeath to my grandson John Colvin the sum of one guinea as
legacy.
I leave and bequeath to my granddaughter Mary Colvin ten shillings and
six pence British with my spinning wheel.
Lastly I leave and bequeath to my daughter Margaret Quayle all my purchased
lands whom I also nominate and appoint sole executrix of all
the rest of my goods credits chattels and effects of what kind or nature
soever cutting off and debarring all claimers for one shilling as legacy
as witness my subscription this 15th day of September in the year of our
Lord 1818.
