In the name of God Amen.
This is the last will and testament of me Robert Farrant of Ballamoar in the
parish of Jurby in the Isle of Man Esquire.
In the first place I order and direct all my just debts legacies and
funeral expences to be paid off and discharged so soon as conveniently
can be after my decease and subject thereto I give devise and bequeath
to my daughter Ann Farrant all that my dwelling house with the yard stables
and vault thereunto belonging with the intack adjoining the same situate in
the town of Peel at present, in the occupation of Thomas Long Innkeeper.
Also all that my dwelling house with the yard garden and out offices
belonging to the same situate in the town of Castletown at
present occupied by Mr Benson as tenant thereof. Also all that my
stables and coach house with the yard thereunto belonging situate in the
said town of Castletown adjoining to the property of Capt Wilkes. Also
all that small house adjoining the dwelling house occupied by Mr Benson
together with three fields and a meadow formerly part of the estate of Knock
Rushen situate lying and being in the neighbourhood of Castletown aforesaid.
And also all that parcel of Abbey land situate lying and being
in the parish of Kirk Braddan commonly called and known by the name of
"White Hoe" at present in the occupation of James Smith as tenant thereof.
To have and to hold the said several dwelling houses, yards, gardens,
stables, coach houses, fields, meadow, parcel of Abbey Land and premsies
with all and every the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto my said
daughter Ann Farrant her heirs and assigns forever.
I give devise and bequeath to my son William Farrant all those my estate
lands and premises called Ballamoar and the Nappin situate in Jurby
aforesaid together with the whole of my household furniture, plate,
linen, china, farming utensils, stock and crop, and also the rest residue
and remainder of my estate property and effects whatsoever and wheresoever
To have and to hold the said estates lands and premises, household
furniture, plate, linen, china, farming utensils, stock, and crop property
and effects with all and every the appurtenances the same belonging or
appertaining unto my said son William Farrant his heirs and assigns forever.
And lastly I appoint my said son William Farrant whole
and sole executor of this which I declare to be my last will and
testament hereby revoking and making void all former will and wills
heretofore by me made and I also appoint my said son William -
Residuary Legatee of all my undisposed property and effects in this
island or elsewhere and guardian of his said sister Ann Farrant until she
attains the age of twenty one years or marries.
In witness whereof I the said Robert Farrant have hereunto set my hand and
seal at Ballamoar aforesaid the seventeenth day of January one thousand
eight hundred and eighteen. Robert Farrant
