The humble petition of John Joseph Grier Esq
Sheweth:  That Frances Grier your petitioner's mother departed this life on
or about the 18t day of August last intestate.  That your petr is desirous
of taking upon himself the administration of the estate of the said Frances
Grier.
Wherefore your petr prays that your Rev will be pleased to commit the
administration of the estate of the said Frances Grier to your petr and your
petr will pray.

At an Eccl Court holden in Douglas 3 Sep 1821.  Frances Grier otherwise
Bacon having departed this life on or about the 18th day of August last
intestate, leaving issue John Joseph, Robert, Augustus Frederick, and
Margaret and this court having received intelligence thereof and upon the
humble petition of John Joseph Grier aforesaid hath decreed him the said
John Joseph, Robert, Augustus Frederick, and Margaret aforenamed coadmors of
all and singular the goods rights credits chattels and effects moveable and
immoveable what ever of their said intestate mother and the said Margaret,
Robert and Augustus Frederick having relinquished the burden of  this
administration to the said John Joseph Grier, he is sworn admor in trust of
the said estate to exhibit a full and perfect inventory of effects to pay
all just  debts, so far forth as goods will extend and the law bind him, and
to these ends he hath given pledges in form of  law, namely James Quirk Esq
High Bailiff and Charles Geneste Esq Advocate both of Douglas
