       Braddan
In the name of God Amen.
I Mathias Hampton Senior of the parish of KK Braddan being advanced in age
but of sound mind and memory  and thinking on the uncertainty of
life am disposed to make my last will and testament in manner
following.
First I commit my soul to God and my body to Christian burial.
Secondly I leave and bequeath to my son Joseph five shillings.
Item I leave to my daughter Elizabeth five shillings.
I leave to my son Simon all my part of a web of linen that is in the house.
I leave to my son Nicholas twenty pounds that is due me in Ramsey a
note for the same which is in the said Nicholas's possession.
I leave to my brother Gilbert Hampton a coat and waistcoat.
I leave to Thomas Lewin and Willm Crain ten shillings as a help to repair
the Preaching House in KK Braddan.
I leave to Esther Tear of Douglas to shilling if so be that she shall
survive me.
I leave seven shilling to the poor to be given by my executor to such poor
as he thinks proper.
I leave my son Simon to deliver to my executor a note of mine (that he
has to keep_) of twenty pounds when demanded of him.
Lastly I nominate and appoint my eldest son Mathias Hampton sole executor of
all the rest of my worldly goods moveable or immoveable of what nature
soever excluding all persons that might claim any interest
in my will with six pence legacy.
Signed and declared by the testator to be his last will and testament in
presence of us and desired us to witness the same this 9th day of
January 1810.

The executor is sworn in court in form of law and hath given pledges for the
payment of debts and legacies namely the witnesses Daniel Kelly and Matthias
