Malew
In the name of God Amen.
I Esther Shimmin of the Ballabeg in the parish of Malew being of a sound
mind and memory do ordain and appoint my last will and testament in manner
following.
First of all I commit my soul to the hands of the Almighty God who gave
it and my body to a decent an Christian burial. And as touching the
worldly goods which God hath been pleased to bless me with. I dispose
of them as follows:
2ndly I leave devise and bequeath unto my eldest daughter Elizabeth Shimmin
the sum of one hundred pounds British.
3rdly I leave devise and bequeath unto my second daughter Jane Shimmin the
sum of one hundred pounds British.
4thly I leave devise and bequeath unto my eldest son John Shimmin the sum of
five shillings British
5thly I leave devise and bequeath unto my third daughter Ann Shimmin
the sum of one hundred pounds British.
6thly I leave devise and bequeath unto my youngest daughter Esther Shimmin
the sum of one hundred pounds British.
7thly I leave devise and bequeath unto my four daughters aforesd all my
wearing apparel to be equally divided between them. And if in case one
or any of my four daughters of said should die before she or they arrive
at the age of twenty one years her legacy is to be divided between her
surviving sisters and so on with all the rest. And that neither of my
aforesaid four daughters do received their legacy neither principal nor
interest until they arrive at the age of twenty one years and that
alternative. And any person or persons who shall or will claim she
leaves them six pence each.
8thly and lastly I ordain and appoint my beloved husband William
Shimmin my whole and sole executor of all the rest of my goods chattels and
effects of whatever kind or nature soever and whereunto - We the subscribing
witnesses hath set our named this 7th day of October 1823
