17 Malew This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of Thomas Leyland of Castletown who departed this life on the eleventh day of December one thousand eight hundred and twenty three and published and declared by him in the presence of Thomas Cubbon and Edward Harrison of the said town on or about the second day of November one thousand eight hundred and twenty three and committed to writing this twentieth day of December one thousand eight hundred twenty three aforesaid. First and principally he leaves and bequeaths to his son James Leyland two years rent of a certain house in Queen Street Castletown due him from Hugh Creetch Senior and Hugh Creetch Junior and also all whatsoever rents and profits due to him as might be recovered and likewise leaves him the said James Leyland sole executor of all his effects whatsoever by paying all claimants the sum of six pence as witness our subscription this twentieth day of December one thousand eight hundred and twenty three 1823. Thomas Cubbon and Edward Harrison my mark X At a Chapter Court holden in Castletown on the 13th day of May 1824 James Leyland the executor named in the foregoing will is sworn executor in court in form of law and hath given pledges for the payment of debts and legacies namely(left blank) Probatum est Will Roper.
