13 Malew In the Name of God Amen. I John Taubman of Castletown being weak in body but of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding do make this my last will and testament in manner following: First I commit my soul to God who gave it and my body to be interred at the discretion of the executrix of this my will. Item I give devise and bequeath subject to the bequests herein after contained all and singular the lands houses and property real and personal to which I am entitled unto my loving and beloved wife situate in Castletown and Malew or wheresoever such real and personal property may be subject to the care and maintenance of my sister Catharine Taubman now residing with us and in the event of my said sister surviving my said wife I give devise and bequeath a clear annuity to my said sister commencing from the day of the death of my said wife during the term of the natural life of my said sister of forty pounds but yearly. Item I give and bequeath to Charlotte Lawrence and to Harriet Lawrence daughters of Henry Lawrence and my wife's sister the sum of twenty pounds British each. Item I give and bequeath to my cousins Catharine Moore and Margaret Moore ten pounds British each. Item - I give and bequeath to my wife's niece Elizabeth Gelling her note for twenty pounds but passed to me. Item I give and bequeath to Jane Kelly daughter of William Kelly of ------- and my wife's sister for her own property twenty pounds British. Item I give to my servant woman Alice Burniston five pounds British. Item I give to the poor of Castletown the sum of ten pounds British. Lastly I nominate and constitute my loving wife Catharine Taubman otherwise Cotteen alis Gelling sole executrix and residuary legatee of this my last will and testament revoking hereby all former wills. Gelling John Quayle Jurati. 13 May 1824 Catharine Taubman sworn as executrix with pledges being John Lucas of Knockrushen in the parish of Malew and John Quayle of Castletown in the same parish.
