The humble Petition
of Mary Lawson
Executrix of the
Will of Edmund
Lawson deceased
Sheweth
That the said
Edmund Lawson departed
this life some time in the
month of January last
having previous to his
decease duly made and
published his last Will
and Testament whereof
he appointred your Petr
Executrix
That your Petitioner
is desirous that the said
Will should be received
and probate thereon is
granted with all convenient
speed.
Wherefore our Petr
prays a hearing of
this Petition and
that you Worhship
may be pleased to recieve
the said Will and to
grant probate thereon
at the next Court and
Petr will pray etc etc

Will Roper
This is affirmed to be the last Will
and Testament of Edmund Lawson of the
Town of Douglas Carpinter and of Mary
Lawson alias Faragher his wife who were
of sound and disposing mind memory and
understanding at the making hereof having
agreed to make this their joint Will in
manner following. They commend their
souls to the mercy of Almighty and their remains
to be decently burried, and that after the
death of the shorter liver of them the said
Edmund Lawson and Mary his wife any
person lawfully entilled to claim a legacy
shall receive two shillings and sixpence
from the surviver or longer liver And
lastly the longer liver or survivor of them
the said Edmund Lawson and Mary his wife
is hereby nominated and appointed sole
and whole Exect or Executrix of all and
singlular all the goods chattles houses
gardens and effect which do of may
belong to them, the said Edmund Lawson or
Mary his wife aforesaid inthe the Town of
Douglas or elsewhere to be for the use of the
longer liver during his or her natural life
and this we pronounce to be our last Will and
Testament this 2nd day of March 1824
