Ballaugh
In the name of God Amen. I Margaret Kaneen alias Quayle
wife of Daniel Kaneen of the Parish of Ballaugh being
of sound disposing mind memory and understanding but sick
in body do make this my last will and testament in manner following
First I recommend my soul to God and Body to Christian Burial.
I bequeath, grant and leave all and every my whole Estate
of Intack land situate in the Parish of KK Christ Lezayre
unto my Brother Thomas Quayle
I leave and bequeath unto Thomas Quayle son of the above
Thomas Quayle the sum of Five Pounds British
I leave and Bequeath unto William Quayle son of the above
said Thomas Quayle my Brother the Sum of Three Pounds
British and my chest.
I leave and Bequeath to John Quayle Son of the above said
Thomas Quayle my Brother the sum of Three Pounds British
I leave and Bequeath unto William Collister son of my sister
Mary and wife of Wm Collister Mason the Sum of three Pounds British
I leave and Bequeath to Thomas Collister Son of my Sister
Mary aforesd the sum of three Pounds British.
I leave and Bequeath unto Mary Collister daughter of the
aforesd Mary my Sister the sum of Three Pounds British
I leave and Bequeath to Mary Collister Daughter of the aforesd
Mary my Sister and Likewise unto Ann Margaret & Elizabeth
Daughters of the aforesaid Thomas Quayle my Brother all my
wearing and Sunday clothes and apparel of every description
whatever in joint and equal proportion share and Share alike
to be divided amongst them.
I leave and Bequeath unto my Beloved Husband Daniel Keneen
A Piece of Web of shirting linen Cloth
I Bequeath unto any Person or Persons claiming in this my
last Will and Testament the sum of one shilling each as Legacy.
Lastly I nominate constitute ordain and appoint Thomas Quayle
my aforesaid Brother to be the whole and sole Executor of
this my Last Will and Testament and residuary Legatee of all
and Singular the rest or remainder of my Goods Chattles effects
credits notes and mortgages of every description whatever.
As witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed or marked to
my name this the 22d Day of May 1826.

I Daniel Caneen widower of the aforementioned Testator do
hereby ratify, confirm, and allow of the aforewritten will
so far as it concerns her half or moiety of ben goods and
lands therein mentioned as witness my subscription this
21st of Augt 1826

At a Chapter Court holden at KK Michael 17th Novr 1826
Thomas Quayle in the foregoing Will named is sworn well and truly
to administer the Estate and Effects of Margaret Keneen decd to
pay all just debts and legacies so far as goods will extend and the
law bind him and to return a true and perfect Inventory of the Estate
into the Episcopal Registry when thereunto lawfully
Know all Men, by presents that We Thos Corlett in the Parish of
Ballaugh and Thomas Ratclif of the Parish of Ballaugh are held and
firmly bound to George, Lord Bishop of Sodor and Mann, and his
successors, in the Sum of Ninety Pounds British; to the Payment
thereof well and truly to be made, we bind Ourselves, Our Heirs,
Executors, Administrators, and Assigns, jointly and severally, by
these presents, to the said Lord Bishop and his Successors.
Witness our Subscriptions, this 17th day of Novr 1826
Whereas the Ecclesiastical Court of this Island hath this Day granted
Probate of the Will of Margt Keneen deceased, to Thos Quayle,
Now the Condition of the above Obligation is such; that if the said
Executor shall well and truly administer the Estate and Effects of the
said Deceadent; and shall in all Things relating thereto conform to
the Laws of this Isle, the Orders of the Ecclesiastical courts thereof,
and the Oath he hath this day taken, the foregoing Obligation to be void,
otherway to be and remain in full force and virtue in Law.
