The humble petition of McKenzie Forbes
Sheweth:  That Wm Forbes your husband departed this life some time since
intestate and petitioner is anxious that administration should be granted to
his estate
Petitioner therefore prays a hearing of this petition and that your worship
may be pleased to grant her or some other proper person administration as
aforesaid and she will pray.   J. M. Carrington for petitioner
Ordered that this petitioner do come on to be heard on Saturday next.
Whereof all parties to have due notice.
Given this 25th Sep 1827 Will Roper

At a Special Court holden at St Anne the 28th day of September 1827. William
Forbes having departed this life intestate and Mackenzie Forbes having made
application for administration of the estate of the said intestate therefore
administration of the same is hereby granted unto the said MacKenzie Forbes
she being duly sworn well and truly to administer the same to pay the debts
and funerals expenses so far as the goods will extend and the law bind him
and to return  into the Episcopal Registry an inventory of the effects and
an accurate account of his transactions touching said estate when thereto
required and to these ends James Dowie and John Kirkland have entered into a
bond in the sum of three hundred pounds British and and the said MacKenzie
Forbes hath made affadavit that the personal property will not exceed said
sum.

Makenzie Forbes made oath on the Holy Evangelists that the personal property
whereof Wm Forbes died possessed; will not exceed in value three hundred
pounds, to the best of deponent's knowledge information and belief.

Know all men, by presents, that we, Capt James Dowie in the parish of Santon
and John Kirkland of the parish of Santon are held and firmly bound to
George, Lord Bishop of Sodor and Mann, and his successors, in the sum of
three hundred pounds British; to the payment whereof well and truly to be
made, we bind ourselves, our Heirs, Executors, Administers, and assigns,
jointly and severally, by these presents, to the said Lord Bishop and his
Successors.
Witness our subscriptions this 28 day of Sep 1827.

Whereas the Eccl court of this Island hath this day granted administration
to the estate of Wm Forbes deceased to MacKenzie
Forbes.
Now the condition of the above obligation is such, that if the said
Mackenzie Forbes shall well and truly administer the estate and effects of
the said Wm Forbes deceased; and shall in all things relating thereto
conform to the laws of this Isle, the orders of the Eccl courts thereof, and
the oath she hath this day taken, then the foregoing obligation to be void,
otherway to be and remain in full force and virtue in Law.
