In the name of God Amen
I Christian Shimmin otherwise Quine of the Town of Peel 
Widow being at present of sound mind memory and understanding 
at the making hereof and calling to mind the uncertainty 
of this mortal life and desirous to settle my worldly 
affairs before my decease do make this my Last Will and 
Testament  in manner and form following.

Imprimis I commend my Soul to Almighty God my Creator and 
my Body to a decent Christian Burial
Item I leave devise and bequeath unto my son Thomas Shimmin 
the sum of five shillings british - legacy.
Item I leave devise and bequeath unto my son Richard Shimmin 
the sum of five shillings legacy
Item I leave devise and bequeath unto my daughter Ann Shimmin 
the whole of my part or share of my dwelling house in said 
Town of Peel and wherein I now dwell and reside together with 
the easements and appurtenances to the same in any wise belonging 
or appertaining, she to perform the same immediately at my 
death or decease.
And lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my said Daughter 
Ann Shimmin whole and sole executrix of all the rest of my goods 
rights Credits Chattels and effects moveable and immoveable 
be they of what kind or Denomination soever excluding and 
Debarring any person or persons that may claim in this my Will 
with sixpence legacy.
Signed by the Testator this the 
13th day of April 1826

At a Chapter Court holden in Peel town on the 10th day of May 1827
Anne Shimmin the Executrix named in the foregoing Will is sworn in 
Court in form of Law well and truly to execute the last Will and 
Testament Christian Shimmin deceased to pay all her just Debts 
Legacies and funeral expenses so far as the goods will extend and 
the Law bind her and to return a full and perfect inventory of the 
Effects and an accurate account of her transactions ????ching said 
Estate when thereto lawfully required. And to these ends Edward 
Corris of German and John Quirk of Patrick have entered into a Bond 
unto the Lord Bishop and his successors in the sum of Twenty pounds 
British bearing equal date herewith. 
Probate hereof is granted unto the said Anne Shimmin.
