In the name of God Amen.
I Margaret Cubbon alias Wilks widow and relict of the Rev Thomas Cubbon
Vicar General late deceased being of sound disposing mind memory and
understanding, but considering the uncertainty of this mortal life do make
this my last will and testament in manner following: First I commit my soul
to Almighty God and I direct my body to be decently buried at the discretion
of my executrixes hereinafter named. Secondly I give devise, and bequeath to
my three daughters Anne, Elizabeth, and Maria, all and singular my purchased
lands, houses, mills and concerns within this Isle whether quarterland or
intack land To Have and To Hold unto them their heirs and assigns forever
the said lands, houses, mills and concerns together with all ways waters,
water courses, easements, liberties rights, members, priveleges and
apppurtenances unto the same belonging or in any wise appertaining. Thirdly
Whereas it was the intention and desire of my beloved husband some time
prior to this decease to have left a legacy to the poor of the town of
Ramsey and the parish of Maughold and also to have increased the legacy left
my daughter Mrs Margaret Rimmer, but owing to his sudden death the said
intention was not carried into effect by making the necessary alteration in
his will and therefore in order to carry his wishes and desires into
execution so far as in me his the power of doing, I hereby leave devise and
bequeath to the Vicar and Wardens of Maughold for the time being and their
successors in office the sum of one hundred pounds British in trust  to be
laid out at interest for the benefit and use of the said poor of Maughold
and Ramsey.  And to my said daughter Margaret Rimmer I leave and bequeath
the yearly interest  arising on a certain Bond and Security passed by John
Kneale of the Llheakerras in the parish of Andreas to my said husband for
the principal sum of three hundred pounds British chargeable on certain
lands in KK Bride called the Reineases and bearing date the 14th April 1824
To have and To Hold unto her the said Margaret Rimmer the said yearly
interest during her natural life and as to the principal sum of the said
Bond and Security I leave and bequeath the same to the daughters of the said
Margaret Rimmer namely Theodosia and Margt to be received by them
immediately on the decease of their said mother.
Fourthly I leave and bequeath to my son Wm Cubbon  the sum of ten pounds
British as legacy - He  having already an annuity left him as a provision by
the will of his father.
Fifthly I leave and bequeath to my granddaughter Margt Corlett the sum of
one hundred pounds Britsh as legacy.
Sixthly Feeling sensible as I do of the dutiful, kind and generous conduct,
of my son Major Mark Cubbon now in  the East  India Company Service and that
no pecuniary legacy in my power to leave him would be an object worth his
acceptance.
I therefore leave him a gold mourning ring containing his fathers hair and
mine.  And I request his acceptance of the same in remembrance of those on
whom he so liberally conferred his bounty with the intention of adding to
their comfort in declining years.
Lastly I leave, devise, and bequeath all the rest  and residue of my
property and effects, goods, cash, credits, chattels, bonds, notes, bills,
household furniture, plate, linen, china, and personal property of every
description and denomination to my said three daughters Anne, Elizth, and
Maria equally among them share and share alike.  And I hereby nominate
constitute and appoint my said three daughters Anne, Elizth and Maria joint
executrixes of this my will leaving six pence legacy to each and every other
lawful claimer.  In witness whereof I the said Margt Cubbon have hereunto
subscribed my name and affixed my seal this twentieth  day of March in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine.

At a Special Eccl Court held in Ramsey the 31st Oct 1829.  The testatrix
having departed this life some time ago and this court having received
intelligence thereof hath therefore granted probate of this her last will
and testament unto the executrixes int he said will named vizt Anne Cubbon,
Elizth Cubbon and Maria Cubbon who are sworn well and truly to administer
the estate  of the testatrix to pay her just debts, legacies ,and funeral
expenses so far forth as the goods will extend and the law bind them, to
return a true  invenroty of all her goods and effects into the Epl Reg when
thereunto lawfully required; and to these ends have given pledges in form of
law namely Wm Christian Esq and Mr Robert Corlett
