In the name of God Amen. I Ann Bridson
of Castletown in the Isle of Man Spinster being
week in body but of sound disposing mind
memory and understanding and calling to mind
the uncertainty of this mortal and
transitory life and being minded and desirous
to settle my worldly affairs do make this
my Last Will and Testament in manner
and form following hereby revoking, annulling
and rendering void all other and former
will or wills by me heretofore made and
executed and declaring this only to be my
last Will and Testament

I commit my soul to God and my body
to Christian Burial

I leave and bequeath to my nephew
William Bridson of Liverpool Carpenter a
Legacy of five pounds British, and to my
nephew John Bridson of Liverpool aforesaid
Carpenter a Legacy of five pounds British
and my Second best feather Bed Bolster and
Pillows, which said William Bridson and
John Bridson are Children of John Bridson of
Castletown Tide waiter.

I leave and bequeath to Thomas Shimmin
son of Thomas Shimmin and Elizabeth his
wife (both Deceased) which said Elizabeth was
my Niece a Legacy of Ten Pounds British,
and to his brother William Shimmin a Legacy
of Five Pounds British.

I leave to my brother John Bridson of
Castletown aforesaid Tide Waiter the sum
of one shilling only as a Legacy he being
otherwise provided for.

I leave and bequeath to my niece Isabella
Lawson wife of Edward Lawson of Castletown
the use, right, occupancy, and control of in and
unto and over a Dwelling House and Premises
situate in Gough Court at or near the
bottom of Parliament Street in the Parish
of Upper Harrington in the Park near
Liverpool aforesaid, which said Premises
I purchased by Deed of Grant and Indenture
of Sale made and executed by and between
William Co***, Thomas Lowry and Thomas
Moreton, and granted to me in the name
of Ann Bradson instead of Ann Bridson
which said Deed bears date the Eighth
Day of August One thousand eight hundred
and ten, she the said Isabella Lawson to
have the power and Control, the right of
occupancy and solely to be in the
receipt of the rents *pues and profits of
the said Dwelling House and Premises
for and during her natural life, and not
to be in any way in the receipt of, or
subject to such debts as the said Edward
Lawson may now or hereafter owe or
contract in any manner whatsoever, but be
for the sole and exclusive use and benefit
of the said Isabella Lawson, for her maintenance
and the maintenance of her Children under
the superintendence and guidance of my
Executor in Trust herein after mentioned
and **** and after the
decease of the said Isabella Lawton it is
Will and desire that my Executor in Trust
herein after named immediately afternamed shall with all
commercial speed sell and dispose of the
House and Premises herein before described
to the best advantage and the proceeds of
such Sale pay apply and distribute
unto and amongst Issue of the
marriage of the said Edward Lawson and
Isabella Lawson shall be their living
share and share alike for their promotion and
Advancement in Life.

Lastly I leave and bequeath the rest residue
and remainder of my property and effects
of every description to the said Isabella Lawson
to her own Sole and separate use and
(?behoof) for her exclusive use benefit and
advantage and not in any way to be
subject to the power dominion or
Control of her said Husband or to be any
creditor or creditors he may at the time
of my death or at any time thereafter
stand indebted or be liable to be attached
or destrained upon for such debt or
debts. And it is further my will and
desire that my Executor in Trust shall
not be subject or liable to the payment
of any of the Legacies herein
bequeathed until the expiration of Twelve
months after my decease.
Lastly I nominate Constitute and appoint
my good friend William Kinnish of
Castletown Baker Executor in trust of this
my last Will and Testament hereby vesting
in him, and his Executor and Advisor,
the power and Control of over the property and
effects I may die possessed of, and the
management of the same in terms of this
my will in every respect and particular
in order to carry the same into effect. And
in case my said Executor in Trust should
fail in recovering the rent of the said House
at any time on account of the insolvency
or Bankruptcy of any Tenant or Tenants
that may occupy the same or their failure
in paying the rent of the said house at
Liverpool aforesaid the said executor to be
a no (?sort) accountable for such rent
or rents, hereby debarring all the Claimants
with Sixpence Legacy each, Witness my name
this 26th October 1829
