Braddan
In the name of God Amen.
I Jane Cowley wife of William Cowley of the parish of Braddan being of
disposing mind and memory do ordain and appoint this to be my last will
and testament as followeth:
First I commit my soul to God who gave it and my body to Christian
burial.
I leave and bequeath unto my son Thomas the sum of one pound British.
I leave and bequeath unto my son William the sum of one pound British.
I leave and bequeath unto my son Daniel the sum of one pound British.
I leave and bequeath unto my daughter Margarett wife of Edward Corkhill the
sum of one pound British and a suit of black clothes for mourning. Lastly I
nominate and appoint my loving husband William Cowley sole and whole
executor and residuary legatee of all the rest of my goods movable and
immovable of what denomination name and nature soever including that part of
Awhallyn that we bought from Henry Clucas whereunto I
have signed my mark this the seventh day of August one thousand eight
hundred and thirty 7th of August 1830.

Received from Daniel Cowley this 31 day of August. The sum of one
pound British the legacy of my mother. I also have received all the
legacy my father left me. Thomas Cowley
At a Chapter Court holden at Douglas on Tuesday the 2nd November 1830. The
executor is sworn in court in form of law and hath given pledges for the
payment of debts and legacies namely William Caine and William
Kelly both of the parish of KK Braddan Probatum est B. Philpot
