The humble Petition of
James Callister of the parish
of Ballaugh and Catharine
his wife ~~~~~~~~
Sheweth
That William Killip of the parish
of Lezayre and Catharine his wife who
were Father and Mother of your Petnr
Catharine sometime ago departed this
life having made and published their
Joint will and whereof your Petnr
Catharine is appointed executrix
That it is necessary that some person
be immediately authorized and appointed
to superintend and manage the Decedent’s
property and take charge thereof
Your Petitioner therefore
Pray a hearing hereof
and that your Reverence
may be pleased to receive
the sd will and that your
Petitioner James may be
sworn to execute the
same according to Law
And your Petitioner shall pray
Ordered that this Petition
do come to be heard at
a Court to be holden at
Ramsey on Friday the 19th
Next whereof all proper parties
and persons to have due
notice ~

We William Killip and Catharine Killip of the
parish of Lezayre being weak in body but of sound
mind and memory do proceed to make
this our last Will and Testament in manner
following hereby revoking all other wills by us
heretofore made ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
First We commit our Soul to God and our Bodies
to Christian burial ~~~~~~~~
Secondly We leave and bequeath to our Son John Killip the
amount of a Deed of Mortgage which we have on a
Part of the Estate of Cooilbane called Crook Woods
(the property of Mr. Harrison) for the sum of thirty
pounds with Interest as legacy ~~~~~~~
Thirdly We leave and bequeath to our daughter Elizabeth
wife of Thomas Kewney the sum of fifteen pounds
British together with the Cow which we have
already given her as legacy ~~~~~~~~
Fourthly We leave and bequeath to our daughter
Jane wife of John Fayle the sum of Twenty pounds
British, over and above whatever money or monies
we have already given our sd. daughter and husband
afsd. as legacy
Fifthly We leave and bequeath to our daughter Ann
Wife of Ewan Caley the sum of ten pounds British
with whatever money or monies they have already
recd. from us ~ as legacy
Sixthly We leave and bequeath to our daughter
Margaret Forty pounds British and we do appoint
our sd. son John and Ewan Caley afsd. trustees for and in
behalf of our sd. daughter Margaret to receive the sd.
legacy or sum of forty pounds for her use and to apply
the same for her use and benefit in such way
and manner as to them shall seem necessary
and proper ~~~~~~~
Seventhly We leave and bequeath to our grand daughter
Catharine Killip daughter of our son William
twenty pounds British, a Wheel, a Chest and
Feather Bed and Bedding, as legacy ~~
Eighthly We leave and bequeath to our grand daughters Ann
and Elizabeth Killip daughters of our son William
Five pounds British each as legacy ~~
Ninthly We leave and bequeath to our grand Daughter
Jane Kneal wife of Hugh Kneal, ten pounds
British, two Sheep and Lambs as legacy ~
Tenthly We leave to our grandsons William and
John Killip sons of our sd. son William, half a
Dozen Sheep as legacy.
Eleventhly We leave to our sons William and John
all the sheep which we have on the East side
of the ‘Slieu Meanagh’ equally between them
as legacy ~~~~~
Twelfthly We leave all the rest of our sheep to our son
William afsd. as legacy. And we also leave to
him our Clock on condition that he pays to our
Executor hereinafter mentioned the sum of four
Pounds British.
Thirteenthly We leave and bequeath to the Trustees of
Sulby Methodist Preaching house the sum
of five pounds British as legacy ~~~~~
Fourteenthly We do hereby further declare and it
is our Will and Intention that all and every
the afsd. legacies shall be paid at and after
the decease of the longest liver of us and ---??---
and that the longest liver of us shall remain
in the quiet and undisturbed possession and
enjoyment of all and singular the goods &
effects to us belonging during the life time of
such longest liver ~~~~
Fifteenthly We leave to our grandson John Fayle
five pounds British as legacy to be paid him
as before mentioned ~~~
We leave to the Witnesses of this our Will
five shillings British each to be paid them
by our Exor. for their trouble.
Lastly We Nominate Constitute and appoint our
Daughter Catharine Killip whole and sole
Executrix of this our Will and of all the rest
of our Goods, Cash, Credits Chattels and Effects
movable and immovable of what kind
or nature so ever, to have the whole and all
control of and over all and Singular our Goods
and Effects after the decease of the longest liver
of us as afsd. hereby debarring all or any
of our Children who may attempt to dispute
this our Will with six pence lecacy ~~~

At Ramsey 19th Feby 1830
William Killip and Catharine Killip the
Testator and Testatrix having departed this life
and James Callister the husband of Catharine
the Executrix Admnst. in the foregoing last Will
& Testament named having made application
for Probate thereof. Therefore Probate of the
same is granted unto the said James
Callister he being duly sworn well and
truly to execute the same to pay the
debts legacies and funeral expenses
so far as the goods will extend and
the law binds him. To return into this Episcopal
Registry when required a full and
perfect inventory of the Effects and an
accurate account of all his transactions
touching said Estate and to these ends
John Corlett Jnr. of the Kella and Patrick
Caley of Lezayre have entered into a Bond in
the sum of Three Hundred Pounds
Probatum Est.

KNOW ALL MEN by these presents, that we John Corlett Jnr
of the Kella ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-
in the Parish of Lezayre ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- and
Patrick Caley of ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-
in the Parish of Lezayre are held and firmly bound
to William Lord Bishop of Sodor and Mann, and his Successors,
in the Sum of Three hundred pounds
British, to the Payment whereof well and truly to be made, we bind
Ourselves, our Heirs, Executors, Administrators, and Assigns, jointly and
severally, by these presents, to the said Lord Bishop and his Successors.
Witness our Subscriptions, this
19th day of Feby 1830.
WHEREAS The Ecclesiastical Court of this Island hath this Day
granted probate of the joint last Will & Testament
of William Killip and Cath. Killip his Wife
deceased, to James Callister ~-~-~-~-~- and
in his Wife Catherine’s Killip’s right.
Now the Condition of the above Obligation is such, that if the said
James Callister ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-
shall well and truly administer the Estate and Effects of the said
Deceadents ~-~-~-~-~-~ deceased; and shall
in all Things relating thereto conform to the Laws of this Isle, the Orders
of the Ecclesiastical Courts thereof, and the Oath He
hath this day taken, then the foregoing Obligation to be void, otherway
to be and remain in full force and virtue in Law.

Registry and acknowledged to have received
the sum of Thirty Pounds with interest being the amt.
of a legacy left him in and by the joint last
will & Testament of Wm. & Cath. Killip deceased.
At the same time and place appeared John
Fayle husband of Jane, a daughter of the
Testator’s and acknowledged to have recd.
the sum of Twenty Pounds British left to his
sd. wife Jane and also the sum of Five Pounds
British left to their Son John Fayle grandson
of the Testators. At the same time & place
appeared Ewan Caley husband of Ann
a daughter of the sd. Testator’s and acknowledged
to have recd. the sum of Ten Pounds British
Bequeathed to his sd. Wife in & by the sd. joint
last Will and Testament. At the same time & place
appeared John & Ewan Caley trustees for and
on behalf of the sd. Testators daughter Margt
and acknowledged to have recd. for the sd. Margt’s
use and benefit the sum of Forty Pounds
British. At the same time and place appeared
of Wm. Son of the Testator
Ann & Elizth Killip daughters ^ of the sd. Testators
and acknowledged to have recd the sum
of Five Pounds British each the legacy
Bequeathed to them in and by the sd.
joint last Will and Testament
At the same time and place appeared Hugh
Kneale husband of Jane granddaughter
of the sd testators and acknowledged to have
recd the sum of Ten Pounds British
two Sheep and Lambs the legacy bequeathed
to his sd wife in and by the sd joint last
Will and Testament. At the same time
& place appeared William son of the sd Testators
and acknowledged to have recd half
a dozen of Sheep the legacy Bequeathed
his sons Wm. and John in and by the said
joint last Will and Testament.
At the same time and place appeared
William and John Sons of the sd Testators
and acknowledged to have received
the all the Sheep which the Testators
had on the East side of the Slieu Meanagh
left equally between them in and by
the sd joint Last Will & Testament.
At the same time & place appeared Wm.
Son of the said Testators and acknowledged
to have recd. all of the rest of the said
Testator’s sheep, and also the Clock bequeathed
to him in and by the Joint last Will
and Testament. And they the said
for himself and his son John &
legatees John Killip, John Fayle ^ Ewan
on behalf of Margt Killip
Caley, John and Ewan Caley ^ Ann Killip
and Elizth Killip, Hugh Kneale, William
Wm. & John
Killip on behalf of his sons ^ and for
