In the name of God Amen.
I Ann Kennish of Ballagick in the parish of St Ann widow being weak in
body but of sound disposing mind and memory at the making hereof, and
to avoid disputes after my decease do make this my last will and testament
in manner following:
I commit my soul to God and my body to a Christian burial at the
discretion of my executor hereinafter named.
I leave and bequeath unto my son and heir Thomas Kennish all and
singular my part of the state of Ballacorris with all its appurtenances
subject however to the payment of the two following legacies when ever they
are demanded.
I leave and bequeath unto my son William the sum of twenty pounds
British including a certain legacy bequeathed unto him by his deceased
father Christopher Kennish.
I leave and bequeath unto my son John the sum of twenty pounds British
including the legacy bequeathed unto him by his father the said
Christopher Kennish and it is here provided and it is my special will and
desire that if in case the above mentioned William and John Kennish who are
now abroad does not return to this Isle and claim the above
mentioned legacies then the said Thomas Kennish and his heirs to be
clear from the payment of the said legacies but the said bequeathed
lands to be liable to the payment thereof when ever they may be claimed.
I leave and bequeath unto each of my three daughters the sum of seven pounds
British and my clothes to be divided between my said daughters
and my daughter in law.
I leave and bequeath unto my daughter Ann Harrison wife of John
Harrison of the town of Douglas the feather bed on which I lie together with
a bolster, sheet, blanket and quilt.
I nominate, constitute, and appoint my aforesaid son and heir Thomas Kennish
of the said parish of St Ann executor of this my last will and testament and
residuary legatee of all the rest of my goods chattels and effects of what
kind or nature so ever they be and do debar all other claimers with six
pence legacy. And I do hereby make null and void all
other wills by me heretofore made.
As witness my subscription this the 14th day of May 1832.
