Arbory 1833
At a Chapter Court holden at Castle Town Wednesday 8th May 1833.
Daniel Fisher of the Parish of Kirk Arbory having departed this life on or
about the thirteenth of March last past Intestate; and this court having
received intelligence thereof, hath (for the preservation of the rights of
all Persons concerned DECREED Joseph Fisher (the widow having
renounced the administration) administrator in trust of all and singular
the Goods, Rights, Credits, Chattels, Effects, moveable and immoveable
whatever of the said Deceadent. And he the said Joseph Fisher is thereupon
sworn, well and truly to administer the same, to pay all the intestate's
just debts, so far forth as the Goods will extend and the Law bind; and
return into the Episcopal Registry a full, true, and perfect Inventory
thereof, and an accurate Account of all Transactions, touching the same when
thereunto lawfully required.
And to these ends he hath given Pledges in form of Law, namely John
Fitzsimmons and Thomas Jefferson both of the parish of Malew.
Decretum est.
Know all men by these presents, that We; Thos Jefferson in the parish of
Malew and James Fitzsimmons of the parish of Malew are held and firmly bound
to William Lord Bishop of Sodor and Mann, and his Successors, in
the sum of one thousand British; to the Payment whereof well and truly
to be made, we bind Ourselves, our Heirs, executors, Administrators, and
Assigns, jointly and severally, by these presents, to the said Lord Bishop
and his successors.
Witness our Subscriptions this 8th day of May 1833.
Whereas the Ecclesiastical Court of this Island hath this day granted
Administration of Daniel Fisher deceased to Joseph Fisher and
Now the Condition of the above Obligation is such, that if the said Joseph
Fisher shall well and truly administer the Estate and Effects of the said
Daniel Fisher of Malew deceased; and shall in all Things relating thereto
conform to the Laws of this Isle, the Order of the Ecclesiastical Courts
thereof and the Oath he has this day taken, then the foregoing Obligation to
be void, otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue in Law.
