Braddan
For the name of the Lord Amen
I Ann Hampton alias Kelly wife of Thomas Hampton of Braddan being
weak in body but of perfect sound mind memory and understanding do make
constitute and appoint this to be my last will and testament.
First I commit my soul to Almighty God and my body to Christian burial.
Secondly I leave and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Hampton Twenty-five
pounds the brown cow and one new blanket and best cloke. Unto my son
Matthias fifteen pounds.
Unto my daughter Ann Hampton eleven pounds.
Unto Jane my daughter eleven pounds and new blanket.
Unto Thomas my son seven pounds.
Unto William son five shillings.
Unto Ann Hampton my daughter in law five shillings.
Unto my daughter Elizabeth 10 lbs of flax a quilted peticoate and the
large chest and a piece of blue stuff for peticotes a quart of wool and a
pair of shewes.
Unto Jane my daughter 10 lbs of flax and a quart of wool.
Unto Ann my daughter two worst gownes and one linsey peticote of what
Elizabeth have and a little peticote and best bonet and the clothes
Unto Isabella Moor two wedding peticotes the best gown.
And lastly I leave my beloved husband executor this is my will and any
person that is not agreeable to this my last will is to be cut out to two
shillings and six pence as witness my name or mark to my name this is
the Twenty fifth day of February One thousand eight hundred and thirty three

At a court holden at Douglas 7 March 1834 the executor (Thomas Hampton) is
sworn in court in form of law and hath given pledges for
debts and legacies namely Robert Hampton
