47 Andreas In the name of God Amen. I Patrick Kneale of Regaby beg in the parish of KK Andreas being weak and infirm on body but sound in mind memory and understanding do proceed to make my last will and testament as follows: First I commit my soul to God and my body to Christian burial at the discretion of my hereinafter named executor. Item I leave and bequeath to my brother William Kneale of Regaby beg the sum of ten pounds British as legacy. Item I bequeath to my nephew William Kneale of Regaby beg those lands and premises which were sold under a decree of the Court of Chancery having been the property of John Corlet of Andreas and commonly known by the name of "Bird's croft" situate in the parish of Andreas and purchased by me at the Coroner's Sale and also that parcel of land called and known by the name of Close yn Arjoughin situate also in Andreas the whole of the said premises and lands to be enjoyed by him during his natural life and then to descend to his son Thomas or in the event of death before his father to descend to the next heir. Item I bequeath to my nephew Thomas Kneale eight pounds British yearly during his natural life. Item I bequeath to Charles, Thomas, Catherine, and Isabella Kneale children of my late nephew Charles Kneale the amount of a mortgage for the sum of forty pounds British secured on those dwelling houses in the town of Ramsey occupied by Isabella Kneale widow of the said Charles Kneale and also by others (which said mortgage was assigned to me by Frederick Gelling Esq advocate) to be divided equally between them each to receive their respective proportions when they arrive at the age of twenty years the interest of the proportion of each after my decease to be applied toward their support at the discretion of my herein named executor yearly and every year till they possess their legacies. And I hereby relinquish all claim to any arrears of interest that may be due on the said assigned mortgage of forty pounds at my decease. And I further bequeath to John Kneale son of the aforesaid Charles Kneale all my remaining right title and interest in and unto the aforesaid houses and premises situate in Ramsey bounded on the south by College Street on the north by the New Street on the east by the house and premises of Mrs Mary Christian draper and grocer and the house formerly known by the name of "Corlett Leakemoo's House" and on the west by the property of the late John Cain coroner on condition that he the said John Kneale shall pay to his brothers Charles and Thomas aforesaid and his sisters Catharine and Isabella aforesaid the sum of five pounds British each when they shall have respectively arrived at the age of twenty years and shall also pay or cause to be paid yearly and every year interest on their several shares to be applied to their support at the discretion of the hereafter named executor. The said interest to be paid yearly till each shall have received their several legacies. Item I bequeath to my nephew Robert Kneale the sum of one hundred pounds British as legacy. Item I bequeath to John Kneale my nephew the sum of three pounds British yearly during his lifetime provided he should return from America, to become due at the end of the first year after his return. Item I bequeath to my nephew George Kneale those lands and premises which I purchased from William Fargher late of KK Andreas being part of the quarterland of Balla Kinney and also the intacks belonging thereunto which the said William Fargher possessed and which are adjacent to the seashore. And I also bequeath to him my right, title and interest in an unto those lands and premises which we jointly purchased from the late Captain John Christian and which is bounded on the south by the Lezayre Road leading into Ramsey on the west by the premises of Robert Oates Christian child on the east by the premises of the late Thos Skinner and on the north by the Mooragh. Item I bequeath to my niece Ann Kneale wife of Patrick Kneale of Ballalheaney in Andreas the sum of two hundred pounds British as legacy. Item I bequeath to Thomas Kneale son of my nephew William Kneale certain other lands and premises situate in the parish of Andreas which I purchase from the aforesaid William Fargher and which are commonly known by the name of Cronk yn Eayn being quarterland together with a meadow (being intack land) lying near the Gileough in the parish of Andreas. And I also bequeath to him my share of a field called -------- purchased jointly by his father and myself from the late John Kneale of Regaby beg to be possessed by him when he arrives at the age of twenty years - his father enjoying the issues and profits thereof till that period. In consideration of the foregoing bequest he is to pay or cause to be paid to his sisters Ann and Catherine Kneale the sum of fifty pounds British each when they shall have respectively arrived at the age of twenty one years and in the event of the decease of either sister the survivor to enjoy the decedents legacy provided the decease takes place before she arrives at the aforesaid age of twenty one years. Item I bequeath to Jane Kneale wife of John Kneale of Lezayre the sum of one hundred pounds British as legacy. Item I bequeath the sum of fifty pounds British to be put out on interest of the benefit of the poor of the parish of Andreas. Item It is my express will that my executor shall not make any demand against any of the legatees in this will for any sum or sums due me by any of them. Item: It is also my will that in case my executor shall find it inconvenient to pay any of the legacies in money then and in that case the legatee is bound to accept such security as he possesses of my property as well be sufficient to discharge the same. Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my nephew William Kneale aforesaid my whole and sole executor and residuary legatee to this my last will and testament.
