Know all men by these presents that I John Caine of
Orrisdale in the Parish of Kk Michael.
In and in consideration of the Goodwill affection and
peculiar regard I have and do bear towards my dutiful
and beloved son Thomas Caine my son and Heir at law
have given granted settled and estated and by these
presents do give grant settle & estate upon my said
son Thos Caine his Heirs Exors admons and assigns all
and singular the whole of my inheritance and with the
buildings thereon erected commencing possession from
the day of the date hereof with all my share or right
to the cattle & horses ????? and all other goods whether
moveable or immoveable (reserving for the use of my son
Henry and his heirs the house where the Bishops pleasure
boat is in.) He the said Thomas Caine in that case
supporting his said Father John Caine in a comfortable
manner during his life and also paying to Henry Caine his
Brother the sum of Thirty Pounds British at the decease
of the longest liver or survivor of his said Father or
Mother and it is my desire and decree that my said son
Henry Caine is not to bring forward any claim or demand
against my Heir at law for the building of the Houses
???? ???? also my said son Thomas Caine is to give up the
half of the purchase land to his mother during her natural
life and its further my wish and decree that my said son
and Heir at Law is not to divide either cattle or Land
with his mother. To have and to Hold unto the said Thos Caine
his Heirs, Exors, Admors and Assigns the said Lands cattle
??? ??? for ever from this date with all ways, water,
water courses, easements rights members and appurtenances
to the ????? belonging.
And for the true and faithful performance thereof each of
the subscribing parties thereto namely the said John Caine
and his sons Thomas Caine and Henry Caine, do bind and oblige
themselves their Heirs, Exors, Admors and assigns in such
under the Penalty or forfeiture of one thousand pounds British
to be levied and paid according to Law. This the Twenty seventh
day of July one thousand eight hundred and thirty one.

NB
It is agreed on by the parties their Heirs and assigns
that the said Thos Caine is not to be entitled to any part
or share whatever of his mothers Goods or Effects after
her decease.

At a Chapter Court holden at Kk Michael 10 June 1837
William Caine and Patrick Kelly the subscribing witnesses
to the before written instrument made oath on the Holy
Evangelists that John Cain, Thomas Caine and Henry Caine
duly signed and executed the same in presence of the said
deponents and subscribing witnesses thereto.
The same is therefore accepted as and for the last Will of
John Cain the Grantor and Thomas Caine the Grantee therein
named is thereupon sworn for the payment of all the said
John Cain's just debts so far forth as the Goods, Effects
will extend and the Law bind him and to that end he hath
given pledges in form of Law namely the witnesses to the Deed
Acceptum et Probatum est

This is the 3 day of May 1837
Robert Killey x Henry Caine acknowledged this before me
this 10 June 1837
Know all Men by these Presents that We, William Caine and
Patrick Kelly, both in the Parish of Kirk Michael are held
and firmly bound to William Lord Bishop of Sodor and Mann,
and his Successors in the Sum of Thirty Pounds British ;
to the Payment whereof well and truly to be made. We bind
Ourselves, our Heirs, Executors, Administrators and Assigns,
jointly and severally, by these presents, to the said Lord
Bishop and his Successors.
Witness our Subscriptions this 10th day of June 1837.
Whereas the Ecclesiastical Court of this Island hath this Day
granted probate of the will of John Cain deceased to Thomas Cain.
Now the Condition of the above Obligation is such that if the
said Thomas Cain shall well and truly administer the Estate and
Effects of the said John Cain deceased; and shall in all Things
relating thereto conform to the Laws of this Isle , the Orders of
the Ecclesiastical Courts thereof, and the Oath he hath this day
taken, then the foregoing Obligation to be void, otherway to be
and remain in full force and virtue in Law.

Whereas by a Deed received as the Will of John Caine of Orrisdale
in the parish of Mihael decd it was agreed by the parties to sd
Deed that Thomas Caine the Grantee and Exor of the said Will “is
not to be entitled to any part or share whatever of his Mother's
Goods or Effects after her decease” . And whereas Isabella Cain
the Mother of the sd Thos Caine the Grantee departed this life on
or abt the 13th \July1836 Intestate whereupon Henry Caine her only
other child took out Letters of Admor at a Court holden at Kirk Michael
10th June 1837. And the sd Goods and Effects the property of the
sd Isabella Caine decd being at the time of her death in the care
and keeping of Thos Caine the Grantee and Exor of John Caine her
decd Husband. It was mutually agreed on by the sd Thos Caine and
Henry Caine that the sd goods and effects should be valued by two
men and retained by the sd Thos Caine as his property after payment
of the amt at which which sd goods and effects should be valued by
two men aforesd. And the sd Goods and Effects having been valued as
aforesaid to the sum of twenty pounds sterling – therefore
Know all men by these presents that I Henry Caine of the parish of
Ballaugh do hereby own and acknowledge
to have received from my brother Thos Caine the sum of twenty pounds
sterling being the full and just sum to wch the goods and effects of
Isabella Caine decd were valued as aforesd. And I the said Henry Caine
do hereby exonerate acquit and discharge my brother Thos Caine his
Heirs Exors Admors and Assigns from all claim or demand on account of
the sd Goods and Effects of Isabella Cain decd .
As witness my subscription this fifteenth day of December one thousand
eight hundred and forty six / 1846

subscribing witnesses to the foregoing instrument made oath that
Henry Cain the executing party thereto duly executed the same in

Whereas by a Deed duly executed and received as the Last Will and
Testament of John Caine of Orrisdale in the Parish of Michael decd
amongst other things it is agreed that Thomas Caine the Grantee
should pay unto his brother Henry Caine the sum of thirty pounds
British. Therefore know all men by these presents that Henry Caine
of the parish of Ballaugh doth own and acknowledge to have reeived
from Thomas Caine Executor of the last will and Testament of John
Caine of Orrisdale in the Parish of Michael deceased the sum of
thirty pounds British in full discharge of his said legacy. And the
said Henry Caine doth hereby exonerate acquit and discharge the Exor
Thomas Caine his Heirs Exors Admors and Assigns of the sd Legacy ie
the sum of Thirty pounds British and doth hereby request that the sd
Legacy be and stand cancelled on the Will aof said John Caine.
In witness whereof I the said Henry Caine have hereunto subscribed my
name this fifteenth day of December one thousand eight Hundred and
forty six. 1846
