In the name of God Amen.
We Mathias Caine of KK German and Jane Caine alias Cubbon my wife
being of sound mind memory and understanding and calling to mind the
uncertainty of this life do make this our joint will and testament in
manner following:
First We and each of us do commit our souls to God and our bodies to a
Christian burial.
Item We leave and bequeath to our son John Caine two shillings and six pence
legacy.
Item We leave and bequeath to our son William Caine two shillings and
six pence legacy.
Item We leave and bequeath to our son Thomas Caine the sum of one
pound legacy.
Lastly We and each of us do nominate constitute and appoint the survivor of
us the said Matthias Caine and Jane Caine whole and sole executor or
executrix of all the rest of our goods, rights, credits, chattels and
effects movable and immovable of what kind or nature soever excluding and
debarring all other person or persons that will claim any further right
to our goods and effects at one shilling legacy each. As witness our
subscription or marks to our names this the fourth day of February 1830.

At a Chapter Court holden in the town of Peel on the 26th day of May
1838
Jane Caine having departed this life Matthias Caine the survivor having
relinguished the executorship of this last joint will and has nominated
and appointed in writing William Caine his son to be sworn executor in
trust in his place. Whereupon the said William Caine is sworn executor
in court in form of law well and truly to execute the last joint will of
Matthias Caine and Jane Caine his wife deceased to pay all her just
debts, legacies, and funeral expenses so far as the goods and effects of the
decedent will extend and the law bind him and to do all other acts
and deeds pertaining to the office of executor in trust according to law and
to these ends he has given pledges namely Richard Cowley Senior and Richard
Cowley Junior the witnesses of the will. Probatum est Danl Nelson.
I Matthias Cain of KK German being by reason of old age and bodily
infirmities and sickness unable to administer as executor of the last will
and testament of my deceased wife Jane Cain als Cubbon do hereby
desire and request my son William Cain to be sworn as executor in trust
to administer in my place the will of his mother Jane Cain deceased as
witness my name this the 26th day of May 1838.
