Peel 1838
This is affirmed by us the witnesses hereto subscribed to be the last
will and testament of Margaret Clucas wife of Hugh Clucas of the town
of Peel declared by her by word of mouth as and for her last will and
testament in our presence on the 5th day of September 1837. She being then
of sound mind memory and understanding and by us committed to writing this
13th day of September 1837.
She commended her soul to Almighty God and her body to be decently interred
by her executor.
She left and bequeathed to her two daughters Catharine Margaret Clucas and
Sage Ellen Clucas the sum of ten shillings British each and the whole
of her wearing apparel to be divided amongst them.
She nominated constituted and appointed her loving husband Hugh Clucas whole
and sole executor and residuary legatee of the whole of her
effects of every description barring all other claimants with six pence
legacy.
As witness our names this 13th day of September 1837.

At a Chapter Court holden at Peel this 26th May 1838. The executor is sworn
in court in form of law and hath given pledges for the payment of debts and
legacies namely the witnesses to the will.
