In the Name of God, Amen I Thomas
Qualtrough into consideration the uncertainty
of this mortal life and being weak in Body but of a
sound disposing mind memory and understanding do
make and publish this my last Will and Testament
in manner following ~
First I resign my Soul to God and my Body to a Christian
Burial at the discretion of my Executrix herein after named.
Secondly I leave and bequeath to my eldest Daughter Elizabeth
Qualtrough widow of the late William Qualtrough deceased
the sum of Thirty pounds British being the amount of
a note which I joined with Her said Husband as Bail
to Edward Gawn Esqr. and which I am accountable for.
Thirdly I leave and bequeath to my Daughter Ann Killey wife
of Thomas Killey in like manner Thirty Pounds British
Twenty pounds of which is my joint note with Her
Husband Thos. Killey to Edwd Gawn Esqr. and which I
consider accountable, and the amount of this note
to be deducted paid out of the said Legacy of ThirtyTwenty pounds.
Fourthly I leave and bequeath to my Son Edward Thirty pounds
British to be paid in cash
Fifthly I leave and bequeath to my Beloved wife Jane all my
right and Title unto the Dwelling House in which now
reside for and during Her natural life and upon
Her Death I leave the same to my Eldest Son and Heir
at Law William and also to my said Son
William all my right and Title unto all my Lands as
purchased by me from Edward Qualtrough and Jane Qualtrough.
With the out Offices and Gardens
.. to be possessed
by him immediately upon my Death, subject to the
Mortgage to Edward Gawne Esqr.
Lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my
said wife Jane whole and sole Executrix residuary
Legatee of all the rest of my goods Chattels and Effects
moveable and immoveable of every kind and denomination
debarring all claimers with six pence Legacy
In Witness whereof I hereunto
sett my hand this Second day of May 1831 -

Castletown 21st Novembr 1838
The Exorx is sworn in Court in form of Law
and hath given Pledges for the payments of
Debts and Legacies namely James Clague
Yeoman of Rowany and William Qualtrough
of Ballashoghlogue both in the Parish of
Rushen ~
