In the name of God Amen I

Margaret Scarff ^ of Ballascarrow of the
Parish of KK Lonan widdow being of
sound mind and memory at the making
hereof do make this my last Will and
Testament in maner following. I commit
my soul to God and my body to
Christian Buyrial . As for my worldly goods
and effects I leave and bequeath them
in maner following
I leave and bequeath to my son
James Scarff the sum of one pound
Brittish
I leave and bequeath to my son
Thomas Scarff the sum of ten shilings
Brittish.
I leave and bequeath to my daughter
Margaret Gelling als Scarff the sum of
three pounds Brittish.

I leave and bequeath to my daughter
Mary Lewn als Scarff the sum of
and sixpence
two shilings ^ Brittish
I leave and bequeath to my daughter
Ann Cowl als Scarff the sum of five
shilings Brittish
I leave and bequeath to my grandson John Cowl
the sum of five shilings Brittish
I leave and bequeath to my grand daughter
Margaret Cowl the sum of five shilings Brittish.
I leave and bequeath to my grand children
namely John Clague, Elenor Clague and Ann Clague
the sum of two shilings and sixpence each Further
I leave and bequeath one shilings legacy to any person
or persons that might claim to this my last Will and
Testament.
And lastly I nominate and apoint
my loveing Friend Patrick Killip of sd Parish of
Lonan to be whole and sole Executor of all the rest of my
goods and Efects Moveable and Immoveable of what
Kind or Nature soever.

At a Chapter Court holden at Douglas on the
28th day of May 1839
Patrick Killip the Executor in the foregoing Will
named is sworn in Court in form of Law well and
truly to execute the last Will and Testament of Margt
Scarff deceased to pay all her just Debts Legacies
and funeral expences so far forth as the goods and
effects of the deceadent will extend and the Law
bind him and to do all other acts and deeds
pertaining to the office of Exor according to
Law. And to these ends he has given Pledges
namely Richard Cubbon and William Cubbon
the witnesses of the Will

Know all Men by these presents, that We William Cubbon
in the Parish of Lonan and
Richard Cubbon of
the Parish of Lonan are held and firmly bound
to the Reb. B Philpot, Archdeacon of Sodor and Mann, and his Successors, in the
Sum of Twenty pounds
British; to the payment whereof well and truly to be made, we bind Ourselves, our
Heirs, Executors, Administrators, and Assigns, jointly and severally, by these presents
to the said Archdeacon and his Successors
Witness our Subscriptions,this
28 day of May 1839
Whereas the Ecclesiastical Court of this Island hath this Day
granted Probate of the Will of Margaret Scarff
deceased, to Patrick Killip of the said parish, and [blank]
Now the Condition of the above Obligation is such, that if the said Patrick Killip
shall well and truly administer the Estate and Effects of the said Margaret
Scarff deceased; and shall
in all things relating thereto conform to the Laws of this Isle, the Orders of the Ec-
clesiastical Courts thereof, and the Oath he
hath this day taken, then the foregoing Obligation to be void, otherway to be and
remain in full force and virtue in Law.
