Regarding the Death of Patrick Stephen, died intestate Feb. 1840
Jurby 1840
To his Worship Vicar General Corlett
The humble petition of Daniel Cleator of the Parish of Jurby
Sheweth
That on or about the month of February last past Patrick Stephen then of
the Town of Ramsey ???? but formerly of the parish of Jurby departed this
life intestate and at the time of his death a suit was pending in the Court
of Chancery to which your petitioner and the sd. Patrick Stephen were
parties and it is expedient that a representative be appointed to the estate
of the sd, Patrick Stephen -
Therfore your petitioner prays a hearing hereof and that your Worship may be
pleased to appoint the Survivor as the officer of the court or some fit and
proper person acting of the estate of sd. Patrick Stephen and your
petitioner will pray

Ordered that this petition do come on to be heard at a court to be held at
Ramsey on Friday next the 19th Instant Whereof all proper parties are to
have due notice.

At an Eccl. Court held in Ramsey the 19th June 1840
Patrick Stephen of the Town of Ramsey having some time ago departed this
life intestate leaving Jane Stephen his widow and Thomas, John, Daniel and
Jane Stephen his children who are decreed ?????? singular his goods credits
chattels and Effects and the P. Thomas Stephen is sworn in trust well and
truly to administer the Estate to pay all just debts, funeral expenses so
far forth as the goods will extend and the Law bind him and to return to the
Ex. Registry a true inventory of the Goods and Effects with a faithful
account of his acts and proceedings on the Premises when thereunto lawfully
required and to these ends he has given pledges who have entered into Bond
in presence of the Court in the ususal form.
